Thank you for this video! You addressed several questions I have regarding economically priced lights, light mounting and the EzCan. I too wish there was a dash indicator light.

Most light kits come with a plug & play, so not sure on all this soldering you have done? I wouldn’t want to start cutting in to looms, I would however want to ensure the lights only operated when ignition was on, where did you take your feed for this from🤔 the USB socket or other?

The lights are powered via a Hex EZcan. This is where the power comes from. I didn't cut into any loom at all. The soldering was only to attach the light wires to the EZcan wires. The EZcan simply plugs in and is connected to the battery. But what is does do is give you the ability to hve far more control over the lights than simply on and off.

Hi Steve,. Just stumbled across your spotlight vi, and looking to do same on 2022 GS , question did the spotlight cables reach back to hexcan or did you make your own loom up. If you did can you share what you used .?? Thx

Hi Bully - sorry for the late reply - if I recall the hex EZ can has some long cables with plugs on. It also comes with several pieces of wire, also with plugs on. All I did was cut off the wiring that came attached to the lights and then solder the Hex wires and plugs to the cut pieces of wire. Then it was a simple matter of plugging them together.

Nice bike!! Thanks for the informative video. Do your auxiliary LEDˋs have 2 or 3 wires? I think I have the same, but my LEDˋs does not perform the strobe to pass or dimming light funktion. May be a configuration problem. I bought my via Aliexpress.

Apologies for the late reply. My lights have two wires and they work perfectly on the strobe modes. Almost certainly this will be a configuration issue. Good luck.

Did you have to cut the switch and relay out of your wiring for the spotlights?
@stevemac73294 жыл бұрын
It's been quite a while since I wired them in but if I recall all I did was snip the wires about six inches from the lights and throw all of the original wiring away which included the switch. Then I soldered on the plugs that came with the hex on to each light. Hope that answers your query and apologies for the late reply.

Over three years later the lights are still working perfectly.

I’ve fitted the same lights to my GS 1250 with a Hex Ezcan. when I indicate left the lights turn off, when I indicate right they remain on. Have you any ideas why this is happening Ian
@stevemac73294 жыл бұрын
I'm not an expert with the configuration but it would appear you have both lights being controlled by one (the left hand) circuit. I would start by revisiting the configuration software. In other words plug in your lap top again and launch the Hex software while you are connected to the Easycan.

Is it possible to switch lights on and off?
@stevemac73293 жыл бұрын
@@lino100x100 Yes it is. I mention this right at the end of the video at 9.05. You can also use the whizzy wheel to alter the brightness.

Tip to guide the lights under the rear is with a very long tie-wrap. You can pull them back and cut the wrap through. Nice video !

It would be useful to know details of how you wired the the light units into the ezCan inputs🫤
