Thank you for the video 1)how much force should I use for the skid plate bolt? 2)And if the oil goes over the red ring when main stand for more than 30 minutes, is there a lot of oil?

1) 8 Nm, basically hand-tightened. 2) Put the bike on the center stand on a level area. The oil should be between the lines after the bike cools down.

Is the GS911 the only reader you recommend? I was going to try to change the oil on my 2020 r1250r and need a way to reset that annoying maintenance reminder msg. I saw some others on Amazon that are much cheaper than the GS911.

I hear many people use the MotoScan app. I only have experience with the GS-911.

Don’t forget to do the other checks they carry out, just for your own peace of mind - like checking all bolts/screws, seals including forks, brakes, etc. Just give a good overall health check. Great video though, just watching the 12K ones to familiarise myself, cheers!

He used the WRONG OIL folks. BMW OIL ONLY per the BOOK/MANUAL! Trust me. "I misread, my bad folks, sorry bout that, lots of love"

You are 100% incorrect. Page 246 from the manual clearly states that the engine oil specification is SAE 5w40, API SL, JASO MA2. Many engine oils meet this specification. The BMW Advantec oil simply a recommendation, not a requirement. Furthermore, BMW simply rebrands other oils made by other manufacturers.

@@PacMoto Is Shell Rotella T6 the same oil as the BMW 5W40 or do you think the BMW oil is formulated special for the BMW bikes only?
