This is the most detailed review I’ve ever watched. You’ve done a perfect job explaining the perspective of owning an XR. Thank you so much for this review. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

The buzzy bars were mostly in the 2016 and 2017 models. I have a 2016 and there is no buzz at all. Apparently some bikes had it and some didn't. Regardless, there was a fix for it. I'd absolutely recommend the XR.

Thank you for a very well made video. I had experienced a lot of bikes including the SDGT and I can say that for me the XR second generation, is the most versatile of all, because it feels sporty enough and can be jolly capable to do a light off-road trai if you respect the bike’s obvious limitations on that terrains. I agree, that the breaks could be better and I felt that when I sold the SDGT. The breaks were really better with a much more sensible bite. The only aspect that I don’t agree with you is the point you make about the comfort of the seat as I fully appreciate it. I’ve been touring with it and didn’t felt significant difference from other touring bikes. I’ve ridden the Multistrada too and despite to all its excellent features I felt one thing different from the XR, the sensation that you’re riding a big bulky bike. From the minute I start the engine of the XR the feeling is quite the opposite, it feels like a much more lighter bike than what really is and that is something that comes from the nervous four in line engine sports type of bike and the excellent work of conception by BMW about the general chassis frame of the XR. It is a tall bike, but it moves like a sports bike, with sports bike precision and that’s why it feels lighter than it actually is. It’s not a machine to chill, it’s provocative and at the same time it lets you ride calmly if you choose to do so. Man, the XR is a keeper!✌️😎

Love my XR and assume most people who own one probably love theirs as well (since it’s difficult to find any people selling them on Craigslist). It’s fast and easy to ride. Sooo smooth! Lastly… Love the higher seating position as well. It allows me to see over most cars on the highways. ABSOLUTELY love this bike. P.S., Thanks for this review; I definitely watched it before forking up to buy mine.

I’ve been going back and forth in my head over the XR because I know rationally speaking, the GS is actually the sort of touring bike that’d tick off all my needs best, but shoot…I really am head over heels in love with the looks of the XR, especially in the new triple black paint scheme. Thanks for your thorough review on this bike, you’ve offered many considerations I haven’t yet heard from the countless review vids out thereI’ve already seen.

The ducati is your wife....the XR is your girlfriend. A wife can be beautiful all day....yet there's nothing like a fine ass girlfriend. Get the XR...I did...triple black...its a head turner. That ducati looks like it's from the 1970s. A frickin dinosaur 🦕

GREAT review. I LOVE my 2018. I wanted another Naked (2008 FZ1), but test rode my Demo 2018, in 2019. All day comfort on something fast like my Yamaha.

Thorough and extensive review. Absolutely brilliant. I intend to ride in Holland and wanted to know if you could recommend a couple of good roads/routes? Keep up the good work and I look forward to more reviews. God bless. 🙏🏿👍🏾

@Rising Phoenix Thank you. In Holland, I definitely recommend taking a short ferry to Texel Island, north of Amsterdam (ferries run all the time and no need to plan ahead, and it's cheep). A place without traffic with northern nature - there are beautiful roads along the sea, and in the forest - a complete set. On the mainland, along the Lek and Waal rivers, there are good bike roads too.

Best review for the S1000XR I have seen. I purchased a 2021 (lowered version) and have just under 20k (U.S.) miles on it. After riding the Multi V4S, I felt that the engine was just suited better to me on the S1k. The V4 felt like a much bigger bike and I could not get it lowered from the factory at the time. Meaning I would have to have my local dealer order the Ducati suspension lowering components and retro fit the (brand new) bike at a cost to me. The OEM lower seat is actually worse than the unit that you tested. The comfort seat (OEM) is much better and I have had several 11 hour days without feeling broken at the end of the day. That said, the stock seat should be what is the OEM comfort version on a motorcycle at this price. The main issue I have had with the XR is that the coolant pump started weeping at 16k. BMW has it right now and they are ordering parts.

Thank you. Bucket seats are always tricky, even in cars - they just don't fit all butts. :)

That quick shifter comparison made me baffled. I am currently test riding different motorcycles as a replacement for my 2021 1290 SAS, one of which was a (2022) Tracer 9. I honestly have not felt a better quick shifter than on the Tracer **much** more smooth than the SAS.

I know the difference between the vibes on a first gen vs a second gen XR are huge. My 2023 XR vibes are on the level of my FJR1300 which isn't much at all. All I4 bikes are naturally buzzy when getting into highway speeds.
@thumpertorque_ Жыл бұрын
I know the XR might be a bit boring but that’s exactly what I need because I have a KTM 690 SMCR for the lightweight torquey engaging riding experience. The XR would be good for long distance touring and carrying a passenger.

Hii. i have a request... can you review Bajaj Dominar 400 of India... I need your honest opinion... I had been following your videos till now. i wanted to know your honest review on Dominar 400.
@adv-moto2 жыл бұрын
If we are talking about riding in India, I understand - I lived in India for about 9 years. As far as I understand, Dominar costs about 2 lakhs now. The KTM 390 Duke is more expensive, although they are roughly similar motorcycles. Of the powerful bikes, only something from Royal Enfield remains. Compared to the Bullet 350, it has much worse dynamics, but the ergonomics are more suitable for touring, the seat, etc. Himalayan is also less dynamic and very uncomfortable, but the suspension is better for bad roads, and overall it is a balanced touring bike - a large tank, more suitable for attaching panniers and cans. Dominar engine is definitely better - on the Royal Enfield 350cc/400cc, everything vibrates above 100 km/h, the Dominar has a comfortable speed around 120 km/h, when the engine runs even more or less smoothly. Therefore, if you like it - a good modern bike. I also like that a windshield for touring is produced for Dominar, so the motorcycle can be used not only for the city.

I come from a 2023 tracer 9 gt, did 7000km with it in 6 months and sold it again. I can tell you this much: - The seat is terrible. I can't ride it for longer than two hours without serious groin pain. On my motorcycle holiday i had to resort to putting a sheep hide on the saddle in order to make it remotely bareable. Even the comfort seat is deemed bad by the tracer community. - Now i'm a tall fella (6.5 / 195cm) but the stock wind screen really isn't as good as you claim it to be. Yes, it doesn't look ugly, but that being said the buffeting is VERY bad. Any tracer 9 GT owner who is not biassed will say the same. I've seen arguments that it's not due to the wind screen itself but the aerodynamics (or lack there of) of the bike. - The controls feel very cheap and not premium at all, as opposed to the BMWs. The screen(s, yes the tracer 9 / 9 gt has two) look like a scuba diving mask and is hard to look at. I sold my tracer and i'm about to buy a Gen 2 SXR

The V4S has better brakes? BS .. test rode a V4S extensively in the Ardennen, and i can brake harder and more precise with the XR, more feeling in the XR breaks
@adv-moto2 жыл бұрын
@Antoine Schemkes Multistrada now has the top line of Brembo brakes - that's a fact. It's about progression - Ducati always has a different tuning style from BMW or KTM, for example - i.e. the very feeling of progression takes getting used to. BMW feels like it bites the brakes earlier, but the Ducati has a smoother increase in intensity. If you want to change the style, this is solved by replacing the pads, for example.
@schemkesa2 жыл бұрын
@@adv-moto I think the better braking is probably due to the lighter bike. The XR is much lighter than the V4S. I think it's that difference I notice

The seat on the XR is terrible. It slides you forward into the tank. Really bad!
@prof.22485 ай бұрын
highest fuel consumption, low torque in the most usefull range 5000-7000 rpm vs 1250rs , +-70 vs 90 lb-ft, chain, and poor wind protection ... So 1250rs better option or even new 1300GS
