Car looks great so far! So cool that this is what has become of that old red bmw

What amazes me is that this car when you first got it was in bad shape (engine wise) and you've got it to this point which is fricken awesome!!!! Love your videos bro!!!

how have these held up, how do they ride, have they felt worse?
@memeancholy25657 жыл бұрын
I have Solo-Werks on my E46. Improved the handling a lot and can go properly low. Only downside is that I have to creep over bumps but that's to be expected. Would recommend getting some shock tower reinforcement plates and a strut brace if anyone wants coils for anti-mushrooming purposes.
@mikelozano537 жыл бұрын
Memeancholy how low did you go ? I have an e46 and want to get this kit too
@memeancholy25657 жыл бұрын
I think I have 1.25-1.5" of thread left on the front coils, and I went with the lowest setting in the back.

how do you feel about camber plates and camber rods? how will you align it/was it aligned before you started? also what size are your new rims they look very nice for the car. another great video I've been watching since the start I love the progress and am probably just as excited seeing it come together for you as you are. keep it up man!

HAH! This is exactly how i put my front strut mounts on. I'm actually surprised the mounts haven't blown out. Hope you reinforced it. Wheels look great too!
@millertimebmw7 жыл бұрын
FranklyIDC if you saw the other episode I had the tears blown out when I got the car, I welded 1/4" plate steel on on them.(SOLID!)
@rollinremztube7 жыл бұрын
I just installed my Solo Werks yesterday. This was super helpful. But you should shim the lower strut mounts to get more negative camber up front. The e36 doesnt have a front camber adjustment and they dont have nearly enough negative camber to handle well from the factory. Shimming it gives you some extra negative camber without having to get expensive camber plates.
@nolannorris12507 жыл бұрын
rollinremztube thinking about buying these for my e90. how well do they compare to stock for daily?
@rollinremztube7 жыл бұрын
Nolan Norris theyre quite a bit stiffer but not too harsh. My wife will still ride in the car so thats a good sign. I put it to the lowest that Solo Werks recommends and have to be easy on parking lot entrances.

You didn't need any spacers in the front? I ended up getting Raceland Ultimos and needed spacers, I kind of figured it would work that way for all coilovers.

Incase anyone was curious. Found it on the forums. Don't know why this wouldn't be posted on their website but oh well. "Thank you for your business and your support. The E36 uses a linear rate 400lb spring in the front and a progressive dual rate spring in the rear that averages 300-500lbs."
