For the gear redundancy I have my trim wrapped in alcantara and I added alcantara over the original gear selector

Bro I watch all you videos on the e90. Great videos. Keep it up. I purchased the dash cam a few months ago after watching you video. Do you have any problem with it not recording sometimes ? When yours is recording is it a steady or blinking green light ?

When you press the parking button on the top of the shift knob, does it automatically go into Park??????????

No. Because the automatic gearbox in the E9X series is built to be put in a specific gear by pulling/pushing on the leaver which does the job mechanically. It doesn't have actuators like the newer BMWs have, where the leaver gives signals to them and it reverts to the same position, although to select a gear you can push/pull on it and for park you have the button you mentioned, but it stays in place and the computers do the job for you.

Hey Josh...the P button at the top does not work to put the car into park. The shifter is still mechanical and puts the car into park like the original shifter which used the shifter button on the side.
