Fault code was dash not.sending message to ecu. You need a tender to put 14v to do any programming safely. Clear the code you should be good.

Its these tools are interfaces for the software on the bike so very much depends what the diagnostic tool has been set up to access and I don't know what that is for the OBD LX tool. I'm wondering how important the hardware is in all of this. I do have a code/diagnostic app on my iphone for my BMW car. And a independent hardware dongle to connect to about the same port as shown here. The dongle just provides the wifi and of course the read/write capability. But the magic is all done by the software. I don't doubt that here the manufacturer takes care that you really have to buy the whole set, but does anybody know if this is all necessary?

Agree that these devices are just the interface to thew software and in that respect again you are right that the software is where the magic happens. The GS911 does provide the ability to manipulate the softeware and probably others do as well. Can't do it without them. Cheers. Billy

Using the GS911 to update the software on your bike is not an option. The GS911 is simply an access tool so will not deliver the software update as you need the update file to do that. Only BMW have this. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. Cheers. Billy

Hi there. I did not know the answer to this so had to get in touch with Hex Innovate. This is their response No... D2D is emergency functionality only. My motorcycle is an 850 adventure rallye, however it has a TFT from an 850 premium, which does not have fog lights and there are differences in the riding modes. Does anyone know if all these TFT panels are the same or if there are differences? I would like to know if I can make this premium TFT panel behave like the TFT panel on the 850 adventure, which is my motorcycle. If anyone can help me I will be very grateful.

This will have to be done by your dealer. Depending on their level of service you can either have the update at request the next time it goes into the service centre for something or if they are really good they may agree to ad hoc updates IE just phoning them and booking it in for an update. Yes, the HEX GS-911 is fully supported in many languages. The thing is that the language translation is done by their global network of distributors... so some languages are more UpToDate than others... especially for the sections of the GS-911 which are new (like new features from an update). These sections might still be in English... awaiting translation, depending on the language. 😁 The language selection is in the GS-911/Setup/Options page, within the Device software interface. If you are referring to the start up animation M screen then you will need to access the software on your bike via a diagnostic tool like the GS 911 that gives you access to the options for changing the start up animation. If you mean the M sports screen that displays your revs, speed, gear etc then that option falls in the menu button on your left side handle bar buttons. Hope that helps. Cheers. Billy

My R1250RS has the sport screen which is selectable by means of the TFT menu options. No need for a GS-911 to do this. Do you mean that with the GS-911 you can code the TFT so that the sport screen comes up as the default instead of the bar graph type rev counter screen when you switch on?

Spot on, yes. But older bikes like my 2018, will require that software update to access that 'sports' display that is an option is settings without the GS911. Cheers. Billy

Hey there. Thanks for watching and your question. The software update has to be done at a Motorrad dealer. Ask for that at your next service or see if they can do it as a stand alone request. Once that is done, the GS911 is the interface to access the functionality of that software. You don't need a laptop or computer. You can use a tablet or smart phone. Same info will be displayed as a laptop just on a smaller screen. You will need the GS911 app to do that. Hope that makes sense. let me know if you still have questions. Cheers. Billy

@@BillysBikeAdventures Yes, I was on the pre-order for a GS911wifi Pro. The Hex GS911 Forum has several others reporting the same as me, the features you describe do no work on any K600 '22 or newer with a TFT. I've opened a ticket with Hex code and there has been no response/fix.

Thanks for that i was wondering if i can change the display on my bikes! I can't even begin to say enough great things about the GS911 it has saved me over 1000$usd since i bought it ...I had a throttle go out and i was able to program it without the dealer . I had to take apart my 2019gs engine and fix a 1-way starter clutch bearing issue and re program 2 sensors in the process it is the #1 must have tool for BMW GS owners, if anyone wants to know what its like to take a BMW 1250 Engine apart check out this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYC5hJ2jipt1iac
