This job is very similar for the R1300GS. I've just checked mine and found it was probably a little easier. The drive shaft comes out without removing the final drive and the boots are secured with cable ties. The drive shaft on the 1300 was well painted and sufficiently lubed. I lubed it a little more. There was no dirt or water present inside. The bike had done 16000km.

WD40, cotton bud or rag with a small flat head screwdriver, gently clean around the mechanism that the petrol cap closes to. That should do the trick. Let em know if you have more questions and thanks for watching! Cheers. Billy

@BillysBikeAdventures14 күн бұрын
Hey. First off make sure that you have the latest software updates for both you bike and your phone. Unfortunately sometimes, you have to do a reconnect. Inconvenient I know but i have experienced this with KTM and Ducati bikes that i have had. Let me know how you get on. Cheers. Billy

There are several rugged and very bright 7” and 8” android tablets that are better than using either phone or Garmin devices. Try Tripltek, Carpe Iter, Thork Racing, Hugerock. The first two also offer bright tough phones just for navigation. DMD2 makes great software for these but you can use any mapping software.

@BillysBikeAdventures14 күн бұрын
Using the GS911 to update the software on your bike is not an option. The GS911 is simply an access tool so will not deliver the software update as you need the update file to do that. Only BMW have this. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. Cheers. Billy

Firstly nice graphics on the Tenere!!! I have the same design on my World Raid. Two questions if possible? Just looking to do the same set up on my bike and couldn't decide between the mount you are using or the one with the combination lock, not bothered about theft just don't want the tablet to jump off so just checking have you had any issues with retention or is it secure enough off road? The second is the adapter for USB C to USB is that a RAM accessory or did you get it elsewhere? Thanks in advance and maybe see you out on the Icebreaker! Marc
@BillysBikeAdventures27 күн бұрын
Hey Marc. Thanks for watching and the comments / questions. the graphics are tops. Always get comments about them at bike meets, great that you have the same. Had them a few years now, may upgrade at some stage. Ref the tablet mount, the one i have is fine. Securely hold the tablet in place no problem and off road. Tested this out in the Italian Alps recently on an off road trip. The mount was brilliant. Ref the USB - USBc. Just ordered it off the internet. Searched for what i thought was a decent one. I am not doing the icebreaker this year as all my mates chickened out. Tend to like to do these types of events with someone. Never know when you might need a buddy to help you out when riding a heavy adventure bike. Cheers. Billy

@@BillysBikeAdventures so the set up works really well, thanks for your advice. Just wondering how stiff the rebel x mount is? I currently have a 3dmoto one fitted which I bought for my sumo but the Samsung is moving quite a lot. is the rebel x quite stiff or do you still get a lot of movement with the tablet? Thanks Marc
@BillysBikeAdventures3 күн бұрын
@@marcclothier605 Rebel X mount is very good. It has a Y clamp that attaches to the back of the display screen making the cross bar significantly less vulnerable to high intensity vibrations. I have the RAM table mount for the tablet and combined with the Rebel X mount the tablet is very secure. I say this with confidence having done a lot of off road with it since the installation. Good luck. Cheers. Billy

Hey Karl. Thanks for watching and your comments. Great to have you as part of the BBA community all the way over in Oz. I do miss living there but its been 20 years since i moved there and 10 years since I left :-( Whilst i do really like the Kreiga kit it has always baffled me why they have not diversified a little in the offering to manufacture more security and less faff in to their kit. That said if they had then Lone Rider may never have appeared to solve that issue for some riders. Much more simplicity and super easy to take off and put back on the bike. Let em know how you get on with them if you get some. I hope to take you up in that beer one day mate! Cheers. Billy

Does anyone know if all these TFT panels are the same or if there are differences? I would like to know if I can make this premium TFT panel behave like the TFT panel on the 850 adventure, which is my motorcycle. If anyone can help me I will be very grateful.

Great video, one thing that I would add is that, depending how dirty that pin is, it may take a day of riding for the lubricant to work its way in. I used a light gun oil so it it wouldn’t get gummed up. It didn’t open right away and I let it sit overnight. The next day after I arrived at work it opened like a champ. This tip came from my dealer, Irv Seaver in Orange, California.

I totally agree n the keyless ride. It is a pain in the arse. I am constantly having to replace the battery in the key fob. Some tech is great. I fixed this issue permanently by just loosening those top two screws, a quarter to half, a turn. The added tolerance during flexing allows even the dirty pin to open the tank very easily every single time. No issues or warnings. The tank and lock is still very secure and does not move or rattle.

Good review. I’m looking for soft panniers, I’m torn between the Lone-rider pannier and the Kriega OS panniers. Is there a big difference in the width between the 2 brands? I watched your video on the Kriega panniers and now this one, does the Lone rider pannier stick out more than the Kriega panniers?

Hey mate. Thanks for watching and your questions. Having got both I can honestly say they are as good as each other at doing what they are designed for. The MOTOBAGS are superior in the ease and simplicity of use. No mounting plates to install first and then have to attached the bags to.
