Shut up, moron! The Veyron has about 2,5 tons and 1001hp, that is a p/w ratio of 0,4 hp/kg The Thomahawk (680kg) has 506 hp, that is a p/w ratio of 0,74 hp/kg. That's not astronomical and not "nearly 4 times", that is not even twice - and the veyron is too heavy anyway! P.s. the Ariel Atom V8 has p/w ratio of ,87 ps/kg, astronomical are those above 1, like eg. the caparo T1.

If this Thing was supercharged, the BMW E30 V12 engine can produce more power as a F1 engine, but this vehicle is not limited by F1 the hard reglementation. And this vehicle is street legal - so forget about F1 cars! Even the 80's (turbo aera) F1 cars where not so pure like this!

Looks cool! But it looks impossible to drive if it rains or even on anything but really clean asphalt. There is no shield from tires to the driver it seems as he would get hit by everything that front tires pick up.

The huge engine may be impractical for normal use, but the overall design could be very useful for people who have physical limitations or the inability to ride 'traditional' bikes. Riding something like this could capture the 'feel' of traditional bikes, i.e., being low to the ground, wind rush, etc. Another potential aspect would be combining the stability of such a design with the high MPG found in most street bikes. I'd be interested in seeing what a hybrid on this platform could do.

I've got abandoned riding mowers with at least 42% more power then this, first of all a Briggs & Stratton 5 hp (think it means 'high powered x 5') will cut grass AND pull itself forward -something that this cheap lawn ornament could never do plus last summer when the police showed up I was able to sit on my high tech 5 hp B&S unit to get away, sorry but my B&S is nearly as fast as that 12 year old punk neighbors bicycle so its not possible this toy could ever catch me if I was full throttlin' it

So if you take the cabin off the chassis of a Mack truck and replace the steering column with a pair of handlebars hooked up to the rack and pinion, and straddle the transmission with a leather seat cover, would that be an even bigger "quad-bike"? Just what is a quad-bike anyway? Isn't it an oxymoron in the first place? If the "bi-" in bike means two, while the "quad" means four.... nice compact design ! good job packing all that power in that size, however, it doesnt bank ( tilt ) anymore, which means centrifugal force during turning is not fixing you on the bike any more ... try taking a sharp turn fast, it looks like it has a low center of gravity so it will not flip and it has lots of grip from the heavy engine and the wide tires ... which means the only thing will happen is that the driver wont be able to hold on and will experience flight ... other than that good job!

Bevarian Motor Works didnt have anything thing to do with this build, aside from building an engine that wasn't intended for this purpose. The company that manufactured this is a French company known as Lazareth. They specialize in high end 3-wheel and 4-wheel mechanical applications. Either way, this thing is ridiculous.@aaron2414

With the power, even given the low center of gravity it has wondering. With a bike you can lean into a turn, allowing gravity and centripetal force to keep you glued to your seat, and your seat glued to the ground. I wonder how the would account for that with a 4 wheeler (with that much power).

but you cant just look at the number of cylinders, horsepower and weight are the most critical along with actual grip, both are around 500hp this one more than likely weighs more but has a larger contact patch to the road so it would be interesting to see both from a stop and a 60-150

Bi (two) + cycle (rotate or wheel) = two wheel or bicycle. Saying quad bike is like saying 4 wheeled 2 wheeler. It goes against the basic meaning of the work bike. The correct name for a quad would be a quad-cycle. In legal documents they are referred to as quad-cycles.

V12 choice can actually make sense. As a combination of 2 R6 engines it is perfectly balanced and has very little vibration, which could be a major issue for a small vehicle at high speed. There's very little need for counterweights which reduces the dead weight further.

Not that I've seen unfortunately. It has shown how it works and showed it shifting its weight. In theory, it would be able to turn by shifting its weight. Although at high speeds it would be deadly due to the lack of counter-steering.

Actually it's not from BMW, it's from a French preparator (pure genius !) called Ludovic Lazareth. Only the engine is from BMW, and it has been modified to work with biofuel E85.
