A really useful summary, which was coincidentally filmed three months after we took delivery of our second UKL-based X1 (we hung onto the 2016 X1 so we have two identical X1 18dSE vehicles sitting on the driveway) and was watched a week after we ordered the next one (same spec and trim once again) for delivery in 2022. The comments about the (original X1) E84 are fair enough - but that was the vehicle which got us away from 1-series and 5-series and into his-n-hers X1 ownership. It is a product which works well for us - but you really do need to select the long-range fuel tank and the sliding rear seat at the point of ordering.

THE BEST REVIEW I have had in car/SUV. I am certainly buying this X1, It was a choice between the x1 the lexusnx300 and the rav4 . I Am most definitely leaning towards the X1

What's the difference between the European market BMW X1 xDrive20i and the US market X1 xDrive28i? Is the European market model smaller?

The presenter is so short, this X1 looks like an X5 :). But to the car, this uplift doesn't include a digital cockpit which you have even already in the 1 series and (partly) in the older 3 series years earlier. A missed opportunity.

According to official BMW documentation the rotary dial on X1 is not touch sensitive anymore, so you probably wouldn't be able to handwrite on it if you tried it.

I keep my car in sports mode, only annoying thing is that every time you start the motor up you have to select sport every time

Hi, my 2016 F48 M sport US model x drive when placed in Sport Mode stays in sports mode after I park and restart again. I believe this is a programming software by the dealer as I did not do this. I dislike the start stop and when placing it in Sport Mode it does not revert to that setting once I turn start/stop off. Aloha.

If you're primarily doing short trips and not spending much time on the motorway, a petrol engine could be a better choice for you. An hour long review, and at no point was there an assessment of how comfortable the seats were, how much headroom there was, how many iso fix points there are or how quiet the car was at speed or on B roads to name but 4. If you're going to make an hour long, 'comprehensive' review, please include your views on some of the basics that are actually important to drivers. An hour is just too long to keep viewers interested.

The joke is, these will all be on PCP deals, nobody will want to pay the balloon payment at the end and will trade it in for yet another fashion statement car on yet another PCP deal. Muppets. Get a proper reliable SUV, a Suzuki Vitara or a Subaru XV / Forester and keep it long term if you want to save money instead of paying monthly for a car for the rest of your life. A fancy badge and image status seems to be the only desire of a lot of people these days sadly.
