I have X1 25Le here in China. It’s body way longer and with AC on (whole year) I usually drive between 55 and 65km range. Average consumption between 2 and 3l/100km and on “Battery save mode” I recover about 80% by the route from Shenzhen to Guangzhou (150km) with real consumption 4.8-5.5L/100km. Great car. But it’s heavier than EU version and longer. Already 3 years old (this month). We love it!

Hi Alexandr, thank you for comment and for sharing experience and test results with audience, for sure it's interesting data. To be honest I haven't had idea that there is L version, impressive. I see your fuel consumption is quite similar, actually not much difference for running cost between 4 and 6 liters in real world, unless you're driving maybe 200km daily.I think BMW X1 is the best selling BMW SUV at the world. Have a nice day, cheers 🌤

Thanks for this review and the general one on the 25e. My company were offering a car and I chose this over the MB, Audi, and Volvo. Your videos helped a lot. I know it’s probably not what most people would have done, but the combination of speed, power, 4wd, storage space, minimalist elegance, and driving experience are more important to me than fancy touch screens and a couple options I’ll never use. I managed to get them to upgrade the base model to include apple car play, reversing camera, park assistant at no extra cost to me or the company. MB and Audi wouldn’t add any extras and wouldn’t budge on price. The Volvo is great in its way, I’m sure, but it’s not a BMW. 😎 Thanks again for all the time and effort you put into these videos, it makes a difference.

you should have done the fuel consumption test with an almost empty battery and the car in Auto mode and comfort or eco, not the Save battery mode. In this way the gearbox uses also the coasting function. If you put the car in Auto mode and use Sport, then the recuperation kicks in, instead of coasting, and you charge the battery every time that happens. Coasting is always more efficient than recuperation. This is because there is always some lost energy when transforming kinetic energy back into electricity. Putting the car in Auto mode and comport or eco, the battery would not have got charged up and you would have got the real gasoline consumption. The difference between Eco and Comfort (normal) is that different systems (like air conditioning) go in a save mode, consuming less electricity and/or gasoline.
@MariuszCars3 жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel, thank you so much for comment, definitely useful for our audience. I completely agree with you. Actually on the upcoming video for BMW X2 25e I have put car on ECO Pro mode and use up battery to empty, put battery to "Auto" mode and tested fuel consumption. Well at the end score was quite similar, but for details I invite you for watching upcoming videos :) Have a great day - cheers 😎

@@Y3MINEM hi, I got my X1 25e in december. Since then I am pretty happy with it. Just the right compromise between room inside and outer size. Due to corona I made short trips only, so I am driving a lot on battery, and my fuel consumption is at the predicted level of 2 litres/100km. Have fun with yours!
@Y3MINEM3 жыл бұрын
@@Mucoeffi Thanks. Was wondering how it feels with the hv battery depleted. Is there always a reseserve buffer to ensure awd? Or does the petrol engine have to carry the full load with a dead battery? How big is the infotainment screen? I can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere. I'm getting the basic 25e with executive pack. Which setting/mode to get the full 220hp and awd? My concern is that I'll be driving uphill in light snow or on a forest trail, and the engine will only be powering the front wheels if the hv battery is depleted, which basically makes it a 135hp 3 cylinder trying to pull 2300kg up a winding road. Without full-time awd it doesn't make sense, and on longer trips it seems the battery will eventually be depleted and you're left with just a small fwd engine.

Not bad, especially for a small SUV Sadly nothing outstanding either. I get similar 5.6l/100km in a 13-year-old skoda. And it's a bit faster with a K04, tune and cheap water injection. 5.8 seconds from standstill to 100. If someone is looking for their first *nice car* and have a way to charge it regularly - sure, why not. But is it a worthy upgrade over any half-decent family car? Idk. Yes, it's slightly safer and the interior isn't worn down yet. But once warranty expires the service cost + insurance is gonna be two-fold higher.

Very nice test. Am I correct that you said you recovered battery while driving on the petrol engine? I thought this was not possible on this model because both engines are not coupled? Could you please enlighten me :) ? Thanks.
@MariuszCars3 жыл бұрын
Hi Julien, thank you for comment. As far as I'm concerned there are 2 ways to receive energy to battery in this model, one is when car slows down, then electric motor is working as generator, the other way is to generate energy by combustion engine and charge battery. I hope this is some reasonable feedback. Have a nice weekend - cheers :)

Hi, Thank you for the nice review. I have recently bought a new X1(sportline) plugin hybrid. It has just been a week. BMW is claiming that we get 52 km range on battery. You are also showing that we get around 48 km on battery. However, in my case, when the car is fully charged it is showing only 38KM available. Is it a defect? or do I need to change some setting? Right now the temperature outside is around 5- 7 degree celsius.
@MariuszCars3 жыл бұрын
Hi K agr, thank you for nice comment. Congratulations new car - well done! That's correct, if temperature is lower then range will decrease. If you will change mode from "Comfort" to "ECO" you should get more range out of your battery. Also if car is wormed up, just charged up it should give you more range in real life. Car is showing range base on your last performance/driving style, so if you want to increase that number then eco style should be used for a while and computer will change this estimation. I hope you will get better range on you brand new X1. One more time congratulations ans have fun :)
@renatoathaydes31623 жыл бұрын
I own the same model as shown in this video, but already had a very similar one before (225-xe active tourer). The optimal temperature that lets you achieve the full range of the battery is around +20C degrees (and even then, depending on your driving style, it may get quite a bit less than 50km - drive like a grandma if you want to get to that). When the temperature is below 0C, the range is much smaller, at least half of the optimal range. So I'd say that with 5C outside, your car is getting the expected range (at least I get around the same). BMW should probably make this clearer to new buyers though.
