Hello, I would like to upgrade a bit my base system as well, but without installing amplifier. Is it better to go with splitted midrange and tweeters or coaxial speakers?

If you can go with the splits, also upgrade the subwoofers under the seats with 4ohm ones which can run without an amp.

You wouldn't get the rear stage sorted if went off the subs only

The match up 7 amplifier amplifies all the speakers in the car, not just subwoofers. This is why its connected to car radio harness to amplify the mid range speakers and tweeters aswell. Also you can set crossovers and time delays
