The Range Rover Velar was launched in 2017 and the VELAR’s exterior and interior design is way more beautiful than this. Restrained but elegant. This is loud and looks like a bling bling modded car from the 2000s with those funny lights and chrome plastics that people get from autozone.

Will be interesting to see if this one sells more and on what markets. It looks bad on video, but often cars look better irl than in videos.

I’ll see how well this new one sells. The previous models 2021-2023 look a lot better. I have a 2023 x3 and I love it. This one looks bland and too much LED lights inside. Doesn’t look like what’s supposed to be luxury at all. Young kids would love it and that’s about it.

I think the base model looks great. The design is clean and elegant, has a much clearer identity, and more stature than the previous X3. It also looks much more contemporary and cutting edge. You can see how BMW’s foray into electric cars is also influencing the design of their ICE models with more aerodynamic shapes and a lower center of gravity

no metal door handles, window switches are just hard plastic, the speaker grilles are hidden even in the x1 they are aluminum.... theres not even a single piece of aluminum in the cabin and the doors and the dash is covered in this hard plastic.... what is going on is this a bmw or a cheap chinese EV? Just be honest BMW, you are trying to cut the cost in order to be able to sell it in china in half the price without loss.... pitty

I see the same comments here as when the X1 launched. After 2 years almost everyone likes that car and its the best selling in its segment. It will be the case with this one. Everyone hates it now, in 2 years you'll see it on every street in europe and people will like it. This has none of the flaws of the 5 series or the new 1.

Unlike many of the other commenters I an liking the exterior look of the 2025 X3… the interior is low quality and poorly designed and material selection and lighting looks very Target store to me… I was strongly considering buying it but read today that it is being built in the USA and in the third world country of South Africa…. This is a definite non-starter for me… I want my BMW built in Germany.

In essence, BMW interior and exterior design (esp. cleaning up of surfacing) is slowly walking in the direction of Tesla, to get to the Neue klasse out in 2025. Seems like all these new models are transitionary in BMW design language to arrive at the Neue klasse. So I will wait until the neue klasse is out. Until then both the platform and design are all hybrid (here or there) idealogies. But the asking price for base variant and the options list with exorbitant pricing means, it is still a piece of over-engineered crap from a value for money perspective. A request for BMW: Not only clean up the interior, exterior, but also have a serious clean up of your options list and try to equip the base variant as good as a Tesla. Otherwise your neue klasse 3 series is going to get screwed left, right and center by Teslas, Kias and Renaults.. (I own both an iX and a model 3. The bloody screen in the iX froze already a few times in the last 2 years. And the navigation in iX sucks unless I use carplay. I am choosing to take the Tesla more than the iX for all commutes now-a-days because of the ease of use.)

Just because they have video games and garish LEDs? Fool never realized that BMW customer never cross shopped Tesla in the first place. You can’t even get real leather at any price point and they didn’t forget to raise prices by like 15%. You can “option” this to $85k. Last year’s top was $73k. Absurd!! Front end is slightly too big, but more importantly it’s too round. It’s a mix between the X2 and neue klasse iX3. The worst of both worlds. It needed to be sharper, narrow, concise. The X1 and X5 are fine. X3 a miss imo.

Great interview! However, BMW has lost its mind. What the heck is this? In my opinion, I just heard a whole bunch of BS and no true response. And the inside, what is this? Crap and cheap design all the way. And, what is with the interior lighting system? It feels like a half-ass circus lighting!!! It looks awful. It is too simplistic, too much plastic in the interior. Nowadays it looses the characteristics, the details that matters. I do not like this trend to minimalistic design. This new X3 does not feel as a real premium car at all that BMW used to do. It is is a very big disappointment. The X5 facelift looks very beautiful, the interior of X5 is very nice, very premium feeling, very good looking. The X5 still looks like a premium BMW as it should be.
