Is this the same procedure to remove the ac expansion valve???
@ericwelsh48532 жыл бұрын
You should be able to access the expansion valve through the engine compartment. if you don't know where the expansion valve is, I think you should take your car to a mechanic for work on the high pressure refrigerant lines.

Hello All, my old 2001 BMW X5 3.0 with 198K miles is now having the same problem, already replaced the FSU resistor and checked all the fuses in glove compartment and in the trunk. My car isn't worth much and figured I just drive it until it die. Wondering if I can get to and replace the Blower motor BY CUTTING OFF 3 inch SQUARELY ABOVE THE MIDDLE VENT CAVITY WHICH LOCATED ABOVE THE RADIO? CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF THAT'S POSSIBLE? If that works, I just tape the cutoff piece of dashboard back, it will looks wacky but I don't care. Please advise.

@@startingtech3900 700 is retarded high. I wouldn't pay someone almost a grand to take some plastics out. You can do it yourself for basically nothing. Lol

@Tan Pham Did you end up cutting into the dash?
@fobbily5 жыл бұрын
That could have been a lot easier. Two screws under the hood to remove the air inlet and you can turn the fan from the side.
@fatbobbyslim5 жыл бұрын
fobbily please explain mines doing the same
@fobbily5 жыл бұрын
@@fatbobbyslim there are two nuts, i think its 13mm, beside the air inlet. One of these also holds the jump start point. Remove these nuts and the gasket. Then remove the top cover below the wipers. There are two small air ducts you need to pull out upwards. Now pull the air inlet including the interior filter out to the front, to have access to the fan. This is a lot easier to give a push to the fan but you are not able to remove the fan this way.

Maybe on a gutless 3.0 lol but every ones driven v8 there's no room to do that ...

@@johndaniel3474 You can still reach in and jog the fan via the blades, but that really isn't going to fix it either.
