BMW X5 Off-Road Testing

How cool! This was pre-xdrive. Impressive for something that handles on road dynamics with command and yet can be quite capable off road. Xdrive was introduced during the mid phase refresh (LCI) of the first generation e53 X5. Xdrive gave the X5 even more agility under many different situations, both in road and off, not to mention what ever mother nature throws our way.

Looks like X drive just reacts slightly faster doesn't really add much capability off road I think most of the capability is on road since Xdrive can split drive between front and rear.

@Uncle Pete Yea and there is also funny stuff from car manufacturers like "lifetime fluids" for example. Just opened a gearbox with those, from a BMW and build by GM... But same stuff applies for all the parts which has that lifetime fluid-scam LUL

Make sure you deactivate your DSC when trying to go off road. If you do this only the wheels with grip will get power, meaning you less likely to get stuck. If you leave on, your wheels off the ground while get all the power instead. This is the single reason that lead’s people to believe that the X5 is no good off road. Obviously a good set of A/T tires are a must. Hope this may help👍🏻

Turn the DSC off and off road is no problem at all
