BMW X5 SUNROOF DRAIN LEAKING

Excellent! Thank you. I have a 2003 X5 e53 that began leaking a small amount from the sunroof. I tried to check the two drains (left and right) for blockage (dust, dirt, leaf particles, etc) with a thin wire on either side. After clearing, both sides began to leak! I had disengaged the rubber tubing (hose) from the hard plastic drain channel around the sunroof area. Your video shows easily how to get into this and correct the issue. Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing! This was very helpful to understand the drainage and hose connection for sunroof. I found my hose had disconnected and was able to reconnect - Problem Solved!

Had the same problem started with my passenger carpet being drenched in water didn't know where it was coming from . went to warm up car before dropping wife off to work one morning was about to put my kids in next thing i know I seen smoke coming from passenger side it caught on Fire my LCMIII completely fried and some of the wire harness got burn good thing i was able to put it out but now im out a car... Be careful and replace immediately or it will catch fire !!!

Did you need to disconnect the battery since the airbag is located at that pillar? Wonder if this is the same for a 2009 X5...

These X5's are the worst made BMW's I've ever owned. So many issues, so many problems and the dealers are all crooks charging extra fees and thousands to fix issues caused by these defects. I had this same issue on a 2011 X5, the water leaked into the back trunk shorted out some electrical and the BMW shop quoted me $4000 to fix the damage, and then hit me with $310 "diagnostics fees" on top of that.

@No you Don't go to dealer a lot of diy out there or find goid trustworthy mechanic. Save you $0000

My 2001 bmw x5 caught on fire due to this same problem water got into my LCMIII Fried it and some of the harness ...I WONDER IF THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT ?

Can find more Diy on here than a dealer charges and may not fix your issues always search plenty here.
