BMW Z3 DIY: Replacing Radiator Core Support

Anyone know if the e36 & Z3 core support is interchangeable?

Why did you need to remove the radiator core support? Was it damaged and if so how and was it repairable? I have a Z3 with a wrinkle in my "core support" right where the plastic radiator clamps to it. I thought yours had a crinkle in it as well, but, sure.

Dick Schwartz my core support was damaged, on the front driver side of the support it had dents and was bent from a previous accident. Couldn’t really see it from a far but it was causing the hood to not close properly. I got it as a salvaged car but tryna keep it maintained! Also when taking off the core support sometimes it will be spot welded on the frame where the front bumper shocks slide in. Get a drill and a spot weld cutter from harbor freight and it will come off so easy! And I just swapped out the core support for a used on off of eBay. It’s hard to find any parts for a Z3 in my area from the salvage yards

@@igs2969 Thanks for the reply and a great video. Mine Core support was also damaged in an accident before I got the car. The hood opens and closes alright, however, one of the plastic clamps (1 of 2) on the passenger side that pulls the radiator snug to the core support will not clamp because of the dented core support. Again thanks. If and when I replace the radiator support, your video will be very helpful.
