Amazing mod. I was looking to do this as well and am glad you did it and showed it's possible. Do your lock and unlock buttons work with your aftermarket keyless entry from your other video? Can you provide a link to the key fob you used?

spazzyone my car did not have door lock or unlock. I had to use a third party Lock/unlock module. You can find that video. So this key hack did not allow for lock and unlock.

I bought the Diamond shape E46 key and had it cut. Then i replaced the ship just like you did. Unfortunately the key didn’t start the car. Put the ship back to my old key and started right away!

Buzz944 sorry to hear that. This flip key solution works great for me. I was scared that I broke a good working key. Perhaps you can try this fob for better luck.

Ronaldo Pach for this kind of key, there is no lock or unlock buttons. There is only a light button.

Ronaldo Pach for this particular aftermarket key, you can insert the diamond shape key circuit inside and have a functional lock/unlock. The buttons should line up.

Ryan Meldrum the goal was to swap the original format to a folding format. Fits better in pocket.
