Your camera angle could not be better. 99% of KZbinrs put their cameras on the roof, yours are absolutely perfect. Makes you feel in the car really driving

The way I drive my 2.5si is so different to this. All the power is is the top end so I tend to rag it completely to the top of the revs. I'll drive in 2nd at 40-50 so I have the maximum acceleration on tap when I want it. 3rd at 50 is OK but 3rd at 30 is sub optimal. The 2.5si N52 is an engine that in my opinion is highly tuned and neds to be thrashed mercilessly. That's been my approach for two years and almost 10,000 miles and it's behaved beautifully. Performance engines work best whilst they are being used as designed. If you baby a performance engine it will clog up with carbon and other deposits that come with lower temperatures than the engine is designed for. Sports cars need to be driven as Sports cars. You don't have to break the speed limit you just have have the motor give all it can. Accelerate out of corners to the speed limit and go in fast. I love my Z4 and I've never been above about 100 MPH. I had an MR2 and I irresponsibly took that above 100mph indicated and it felt like it wanted to take off. Steering became a suggestion and nothing more. That put me off going fast on public roads in fast cars. Legal speeds through corners is much more fun. Luv and Peace.

Here again. I hope you're now ragging it to redline. This video is so sad because it's like a racehorse who never gets to properly gallop. The Z4 comes alive at 5.5K and never stops building power until 7000 rpm. The 2.5 si motor is a brilliantly tuned engine. Nothing was left on the table for the aftermarket. It's supercharger, Turbo or nothing. Luv and Peace.

I had an e46 2.2 straight six M54 for about 90,000 miles and it was fantastic. Now I've got an E85 2.5si N52 and it's fantastic. BMW consistently make really good engines. The suspension is a lot more tight and crashy than the E46 but it's a sportscar and I expect that. It's a lot more eager on the corners and a lot more tail happy in the wet. The DSC works though. All in all a more exciting car but I still miss the refinement of the E46. Mine was a BMW individual coloured Tourmaline Violet with BMW individual leather as well Blueberry Nappa or something. It was an ex demonstrator and was optioned out the to nth degree. Gorgeous orange flecked Purple that looked amazing. I miss that car. Luv and Peace.

Hello, i had an 328i e46 for 10 years and i am wondering about buying an z4 e85. Did yours had the stock shocks ? Mine had bilstein b8 and eibach springs, so it was already pretty stiff, do you think the z4 will be even harder ? What do you think about the built quality ? Would it be a good candidate for a dayli or does it feel cheap vs an e46 ? I have an e39 touring now and it feel like a tank, in term of weight and quality. I am a bit worriyed that the z4 Will feel plasticy in comparaison

I have a really nice E46. It has the lowest spec six M54 at 2.2 and 170bhp. It also has Blueberry Nappa leather and a BMW individual paint job that is Tourmaline Violet. I love that car and I'm in the middle of restoring the rusty wings on it. It's got 140,000 miles but the engine is a peach. I will not scrap it. Luv and Peace.

How reliable are they? The m54 that is. I see lots of vids on KZbin that tell you to replace like half the engine the moment you buy the car (preventative maintenance lol).

@@onesecondXII It was a very special car. BMW Custom colour and interior and loads of upgrades. The 170bhp engine was fine in the e46. I guess it's a bit better in the E85. Mine was 2002 and it rusted around the wings and could have been saved but I bought the Z4 and although I also bought two wings and sprayed them up with the correct colour and clearcoat I still ended up selling it. The price was decent and it was taking up space. I kinda wish I'd kept it. It was a pretty special car. Luv and Peace.

@@RandomGuy-ej9gr They are stupid reliable however the plastic parts age out like the expansion tank and other similar components. 150,000 miles for a M54 is really nothing if you keep it in oil and filters. Very solid under stressed engines. It's why BMW can make 350bhp M versions of the 260 bhp engine. Luv and Peace.

You need to change the shifter. There's a shorter one that transforms the car. Google M shifter for E85. I swear it's a complete game changer. Luv and Peace.

No the 3.0 is 218 the 2.5 is around 180

I cant understand this. 218 hp 0-100 is 8 sec - it is very very slow. 231 hp 0-100 is 6 sec.. Different is 13 hp.

231hp is m54b30 with more aggressive cams than any other m54. N52b25 is not as aggressive in terms of cams so it doesn't pull as well. But 3.0si with n52b30 would smoke everything

The one I drove, 2.5si. 0 to 100 in 6.1 seconds flat. That's what a 2.5si supposed to hit if driven properly.
