I'm driving a 2010 E89 Z4 30i with ZF6 autobox for over 2 years now as my daily and I still love it.. Like you said, it's the perfect balance between convertible sportscar and comfortable cruiser.. If you can live with only 2 seats and not that much luggage space don't look any further then this car.. I also looked at Porsche Boxters, but they are a bit to expensive for me..

Great video Joel it's nice to see how BMW have evolved the Z4 from the E85 to the E89 while managing to still keep some of the rawness and fun that the E85 is all about but in a more refined manner and thankfully they haven't turned the E89 into nothing more than a soft gt cruiser. It certainly sounds a worthy successor to the E85.

A manual 30iSDrive is the E89 I would want - But I'll stick to my Manual E86!

sDrive describes the two-wheel-drive models from BMW. sDrive = two wheel drive, xDrive = all wheel drive. Since there are no AWD Z4s, they are all sDrives. Has nothing to do with the transmission. The manuals are also sDrives

I can hear some interior squeaks and rattles. Any idea where that's coming from or is it the camera mount? I think i'd like one of these in the 35i with the manual option. I guess the 987 Boxster is the main competition at similar prices. I guess you don't have to worry about bore scoring and IMS bearings with these though. Are they reliable cars and quite cheap to fix?

Great vid Joel as usual hope your all good mate just upgraded my headlight to black led angel eye projectors cheaper to do that than replace the one that’s misting all the time and a window regulator needs replacing 😱 lol other than that alls well lol hope your well buddy keep the vids coming 👍👍👍👍

3.0 in manual is the one to have, IMHO. Non-turbo, real successor to M54 engine...and sorry, but you just have to get the manual. Anyway, great content since I'm torn between E86 3.0si and E89 3.0i for my next car...and funny enough, depriciation of e89 and rarity of e86 is bringing them to around the same price range.

I would argue that a z4 30i M-Sport with manual is rarer than a E86

Joel are you telling me not to buy a E89 35is, because I am collecting it this Friday.... never actually driven it yet, had a BMW dealer do a pre purchase inspection on it for me and plan to go over the car on Friday before handing over the cash... I will also use a paint micron meter to check for accident repair. I drove other 35i with the DCT and as you say steering etc seemed ok, given it's electric.... just assumed the 35is would be a very similar drive. Chose the newer car because its very low miles...6,500 spent its life locked up as a second car.

Good way, it’s super fast and the gearbox is even better. I just couldn’t get to grips with the handling in the short amount of time that I drove it.

Yeah that's only the 07-08 Si(06 isnt tuned), the older 03-05 uses the m54 so gonna make around 30hp less hp and 0 to 100 around 6.2
