I bought an '06 E90 N52 a couple of years ago, I didn't know about the u tube videos at the time and more than likely still wouldn't had I not encountered a problem with the heating/cooling system. Heat works fine setting still, moving is a different story. New OEM water pump & thermostat, still the same. Now, if in 16 years and 194+k's, I don't expect maintenance, I'd be crazy. Good advice on the BMW OEM parts. If you look at the overall performance of these cars, it's worth a little extra, you only get into being overly expensive when you skip regular maintenance and/or use parts not designed for these cars. In doing research for my own , I too, watched many videos of this guy or that guy. Until one day I came across my first video with "BMW DOCTOR " on the title page. Here's where my limited knowledge began to expand on my own BMW. Without these videos my little car would probably be history. By the way, I watch these videos on a regular basis, not because I'm having car trouble, I watch them for future reference as to what might go wrong. Thank you. Hopefully, we who appreciate what you do, are enough

I do agree with most if not all of your technical info. Very true! But there are more intelligent ways to say the exact same things, you are clearly upset and obviously some people got you out of your mood. I don't think you'll have that much of clients or fellows if you treat people like that every time. If you are good in what you do, it shows, it simple does. Keep positive with good vibes and thanks for the tips. Appreciate it.

My friend I’m not upset or angry I’ve had enough with repeating myself and seeing the same old comments everyday about the same old problems everyday it gets boring and I feel like I’m banging my head against a brick wall how can so many people be so thick and unfortunately I’m very straight up and say it how it is and don’t care I’m not like other youtubers and never want to be like them I’m me and I say why I want when I want how I want and this is the intelligent way that idiots understand but I’m glad you commented mate and I appreciate your support :)

@@BMWDoctor that's alright doc, all to each it's own. I'm not and idiot and I try to hear and learn everywhere I can I see your videos and others too, I read manuals and seek for others with experience also. Some know some don't some are crazy and some are extremely technical. That's all fine. All I am saying is that you shouldn't smash your head on a brick like that, see my point? Maybe it is not worthy to spend that much energy. But hey, that's fine. You are helping a lot of us with each video and you do it because you love what you do. That's the real thing. Take care.

Angry BMW man!!! You clearly know your shit nobody could ever dispute that. I also agree with you completely about using quality parts for BMW. I've owned BMW's for the past 20 years and never had any major issues because I service regular, carry out preventative maintenance and use only quality parts. The people who say BMW's are unreliable think they can run these cars into the ground then complain when shit goes wrong.

Thank you very much my friend and that is right it’s irresponsible owners and people trying to run these cars cheap cheap that moan about bmw and tell them to Toyota the reason they want Toyota is because they come to bmw thinking they can be cheap and then realise the reality you can’t be cheap and that’s the simple fact they don’t want to spend money but look cool that’s all it is for them a fashion statement

Yo. I live in Romania, I have an E60 with N43 engine. I have the car for 1 year and I really love it. Since I bought it I spent 500 euros on reparis and maitanance. In my oppinion this engine is relativly reliable and cheap to maintain since in my country there are a shit ton of them. Btw all my repairs was at my local certified BMW mechanic which is considered expensive but in my oppinion you pay 20-30% more and they to do job right which in the long run worths that little extra.

Hey doctor, 1 year ago one of my valves burned (N52 ofcourse). After running like crap I instantly brought it to the dealer. They repaired it, it cost me almost 3000 euro's, mental! I know these cars are not cheap, but I was to scared to fizzle around with it myself (not much experience). After the repair something very weird happened. The car idles rough and has a weird stutter under 2000 rpm's when putting the pedal to the floor. (You can also feel something switch after 2000 rmp's because it pulls way harder when passing 2100 rmp's) it kinda feels like VTEC from Honda). Before the repair it never did this. So I was thinking, it's kinda weird that this showed up just after the repair. Maybe they dropped a coil or something? Idk, what do you think about this. By the way do you know the costs for updating the car? I'm thinking to let the dealer update it, bacause coding seems to be to difficult. Oh and the car does not throw any codes. Thankyou.

@@arfy9095 Oh, then we agree with eachother. Everything that is connected/tracked with modules then oem parts will be best. Well maybe upgrading some internal parts to forged. But everything around those, go aftermarket. Best example is take suspension(bmw part price) and compare it with aftermarket product that is same price. Its night and day.

Found that out the hard way. Simple fix with inpa. Ista is the way to find whats up. You hit on the nose. Have never bought a part for my X5 from our parts stores. Did a cooling system over haul, trans filter and fluid car runs good. Need to do a Dme readapt and trans also. One thing I found out DON'T forget to plug in the MAF sensor it will set off a bunch of codes. LOL and freak you out.

Hey there my friend, I have a question. My 08 528i has to have coolant topped off every 3k, it has 161k it gives me the low coolant light. I don’t see any leaks, no weird smoke, and when I open the coolant you hear the pressure hiss as if it’s holding pressure. Is this loss normal for these cars? Some people say its fine.
@BMWDoctor
@BMWDoctor 5 жыл бұрын
This is not normal my friend do not listen to that this car should not be loosing coolant check your oil filter housing and check down the side of the block if not then you may have a leak coming from waterpump which is light and not noticing Till up to extreme temperatures
