Oh the theatre, I love it. :) I rode the R Nine T as a loan bike while my K1300S was being serviced. Love.... :) If I could have them both I would. Me and the K1300S are good friends now, we've done about 110,000 KM and we've been together for nearly 6 years. There's another friendship :)

I think the marketing video is excellent, the setting is awesome and it very nearly made me decide on purchasing the R nine T which I also think is a great machine to ride just like the previous BMWs that I have owned, The R 90 T has real character and soul, ok so it is ugly just like most BMWs but that doesn't matter when you are riding it. Sadly however having had so many issues with BMWs and the non existence of UK BMW customer services, I swore to myself I would never have another, which was a good choice as I now own 2 triumphs (Explorer and a Truxton R) which are 100% reliable and also great to ride, and my wife has just bought the T120, if only BMW really cared about their customers. but still a great video and well done to the designers.

Why i prefer this kinda bike..cafe racer@ vintage bike bcoz of the time...precious time left in the bike...i couldnt turn back the time...but the bike has it own stories...so when i have my own bike later...it will bring me back to the time where i cnnt go...old things remain precious history...free ride & no attached to whatever profile...just free ride...beyond is simply undescribe.....all we need passion & love ...to all free rider cheers you all are my hero...

I put down Japanese bikes years ago. The BMW R type is the greatest street bike EVER. Suspension motor brakes all beyond everybody else. I ride a 1995 R850 R and dump sport bikes off at the brake zone EVERY time. I out brake and and open the throttle before sport bikes every time. Ride the best Motorad.

The R-series bike has been around for around 90 years and is a bulletproof classic. BMW doesn't need to try hard. The proof in in the pudding.

yes it has to wheels and 2 cylinders :) But the Griso has a V-twin, this is a boxer engine like theyve been doing for...90 years. I think its different enough from all bikes out there. Someone could argue that CBRs, GSXRs, ZXs, Rs are all the same too...

I was also curious about this. I have been able to find out that lately BMW is filming all its footage in Andalucia, in southern Spain. I am Spanish so I had an advantage. Most of the scenes in this video have been filmed at the abandoned airfield of "Cortijo Grande", near Mojacar, which is in the eastern part of Andalucía, province of Almería. Coordinates from Google Maps: 37.135286,-1.935698. Also de 2014 R1200RT footage has been filmed in the area. In case you don't know Spain is a paradise for bikers. Of course there is no place like home, but in to be fair there are amazing roads, in awesome landscapes. And in case this is not enough, once you stop the bike, there is fantastic food, tons of history and culture and nice and friendly people (although it is no easy to find anyone that speaks anything but Spanish)

Yes the AD tries too hard to make it sooo coool that it finally draws your smile at the beginning to a twisted one at the end. I'm sure Blitz guys and others really actually are cool and nice people. Just we're in an ad, and it smells too much like that. This is no psychoanalysis, you just can't help being bothered. Else yeah, the landscape, the bikes, the sunlight, the sound, are lovable, yeah.

Sehr schönes Motorrad :) Bleibt nur zu hoffen, dass es auch zur zuverlässigen Sorte gehört. Ich werde mal ein, zwei Jahre abwarten. Wäre cool, wenn sich die Prämisse "solide Bauteile, wenig Plastik" auch in den Reihen der GS wieder finden würde... So lang bleib ich meiner 1150er GS treu.
