Today we talk about our first impressions of BMX Streets! There's been a lot of mixed reviews on the game so far so I decided to give my honest review to help shed some light on the situation.
Summary: Bought the game for full price ($80 CAD), ended returning it because I felt like the price may drop and I might not play it as much as I first thought. Price ended up dropping overnight. Ended up buying Pipe for $10 just to see if I like this type of game for the time being.

you made the right play. i have had Pipe for over 5 years and bought Bmx Streets Right away when it came out, then saw they reduced the price so thankfully i was able to refund it to get that $15 difference back. feels like mash games wanted to take advantage of people who were the most hyped and wanted to get it instantly. it a REALLY bad look and just felt slimey to me. not too keen on supporting the dev after a sketchy move like that, especially with mash not even saying ANYTHING about it lol.

Stick with it! The game is tough to learn at first, but once you figure it out, it’s really fun!

@@BudetSvobodnoypipe is incredible, but streets will be a very good game with some patches and updates. They gameplay is already pretty damn good outside of some bugs and glitches

Remember how difficult Session was when it came out. You had to invest a good few hours before being able to start nailing even basic tricks...and now session is the best skate sim on the market and praised by many. Same situation here. You gotta actually put in some work to get the reward. Thats not a bad thing. Shame on all these dudes hating on this one man band that made BMX STREETS. We have become so spoiled and ungrateful within the gaming community its fucking embarrassing.

Real cant stand people shitting on this game and playing it for 5 hours smh this game is hard but it honestly not that hard of a game and i cant really understand people being mad abt the price theres multiplayer loads of customization etc plus the devs are also already giving updates to fix the main problems in the game +active in discords unlike easy day at least mash is putting effort into creating a game that fueled with passion and not another money dump

Just starting BMX streets too and the learning curve is immense. That being said the satisfaction when steeze is achieved is the same as skater xl in my opinion. Love your skater xl content and would love to see the progression in BMX streets to help motivate my game play.

Do you remember how hard skaterxl was at first, and session even more ? It’s like this, it’s really hard at first but when you get used too and you battle for a trick it’s really rewarding and that’s why it’s a simulation

Btw pipe teaches you how to play on the training grounds. You can also see how to do every trick if you go to controls then click right

the game is totally broken. i have thousands of hours in pipe and can do any trick i want. streets I can barely pedal or steer let alone line up any tricks. it's brutal and deserves all the negative reviews. just not fun at all to play, and going back to pipe feels like a dream after playing that mess. I don't know how they could screw up the basics so bad.

if you start playing pipe I would recommend watching a bunch of bmx edits it help me with figuring out what combos look nice

Litteraly just looking at gameplay I can’t see how they can charge that much for it. The maps look so boring and lifeless which there is no excuse for with how much time they have had. It’s also way too buggy

Release day it was also $80AUD - which instantly turned me off for that pricing; I honestly thought we would see around the $45-50AUD mark. It seems honestly, that even still to this date - Dave Mirra Pro BMX 2 is still more of a polished, complete and more playable game. I'd take the old square graphics and physics over this mess any single day.

Yes it’s no different than first getting into session and skater XL. The game feels incredible once you get used to it. Plus the game has so much more content than a game like skater xl and skater xl is the same price.

To be honest, game would be in a much better place if it was early access. It sure is in a state of early access with constant patches being pumped in but it still isn't worth the price really.

Honestly feel very similar about this game too. Hated to see the hate on the game but honestly it’s justified disappointment. Mash has already put out like ten patches already and while it’s still a buggy nightmare and the world still has so many clipping issues, holes that make you fall through, and very little spots to flow, the game is feeling a little bit more optimized for the fun value. I think if they priced it at 30 bucks it would’ve been totally justified and they can raise the price once it gets more developed. Hope you get back to it at some point!

Same controls, just different physics. It definitely feels somewhat similar but also very different, much more physics based gameplay than PIPE.

@@drasse6163 nope. Some games on steam don't have verification protocols. Particularly indie games built in unity. So technically the first crack for BMX streets was uploaded by mash directly to steam, and anyone can simply share the game files freely...

i suggest you learning how yo play pipe first (consider watching tutorials because it's really not intuitive at first and maybe even setting up some mods) and then if you like it you should buy bmx streets, i played pipe for a while and i love it but i'm waiting for the price to come down

Hell Divers 2 is arguably going to take GOTY... or at least have a top 3 finish. ITS ONLY 5 USD MORE THAN THIS. There is absolutely ZERO justification for the price on this, at all. It runs WORSE than pipe. The controls are counterintuitive, which is weird since its the same team. This is a $20 game that i'd still wait for a sale to grab.

I dont know how mash can be this idiotic. Poll your community of 100k plus people. "Hey, is this a fair price point" etc... do play tests and get feedback on biking mechanics, challenges, and what they think of the map... Reach out to indie publishers and get some honest feedback (they will do this for free). Then he changes the price day 1 cause of the blow back. This is truly one of the worst game rollouts ive ever seen.

i hated the price but since i love games like this, i bought it, went over 2 hours on accident (i am getting into the game, time flies by) and saw the price change happen. i was refused a refund, so that sucks. and even worse is that it's such a MID game, it has so many glitches, most of the map is straight up colorless, it's not optimized very well at all even on my overkill computer, online is really weird and i didn't notice everyone in the lobby could hear my conversation with my dog (don't judge, we're tight like that), this game isn't worth even the current asking price. Session is at the level of quality i expected from this game at the original asking price, but this game is FAR from that. I still love all games like this, it's my exact niche, but i really hope they update this game.
