Back trackside after a bit of a hiatus working around the house. On the cool mid-November morning we managed to catch a long Stack train as it made it's way through Wenatchee and south (track East) into Apple Yard where it would await a latter crew. Then, we headed out of town a few miles to Malaga to catch a very short "Spud Local" heading east with some nice EMD GP units.
Thanks for watching and as always, Please Like and Subscribe. 😊

Nice to see you back, and great shots as always! By the way, I did some research and it looks like the Spud sometimes runs up the CSCD line to serve Pregis Corp on Olds Station Road and some small little propane industry across from Ram Ridge Gravel about a mile north of Olds Junction. No idea when they run up there though, but I think that's why they put those pellet hoppers and propane tanks on what I assume to be the Standard Oil spur opposite the station.

Thanks for watching. I have on a few occasions seen them serve the businesses in the Olds Station area. 😊

It’s really amazing the amount of weight those locomotives are pulling! I may have asked this question before but is that bell sound a real bell that is being struck or is it an audio recording? Can’t ever seem to find an actual bell on the engine.

It a real mechanical bell run off a electrical switch on the engineers console. On most newer locomotives the bell is located on the left side just below the walkway. Thanks for watching Frank. 😊

Most locomotives built after about 2000 have electronic bells (E-bells), basically just speakers that look sort of like bells, usually placed on the left (conductor's) side just in front of the fuel tank. Lots of older locomotives like the EMD GP series have been repainted and rebuilt and thus now have E bells as well.
