As much as I love BN and the sd70MAC's hauling coal trains and grinding away at 30 mph or lower, there aren't many things better than watching some sd75M Warbonnets racing with an intermodal train at 60+ mph speeds across Arizona and New Mexico... I was born 15 years to late because late 80's and 90's is my favorite era of railroads, also I can't forget DRGW along mountainous terrain like Tennessee Pass. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the comment. Here's one from a while back. We were on our way home to Colorado from Texas when we encountered these trains on the Transcon. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2WYZoKwfJ5lqa8

You have a steady hand. I become so absorbed in your videos that it never occurs to me that you're shooting on the fly, as it were. And kudos to the gents running the trains. Wonderful consists they put together from plow to caboose, or FRED. Or observation car.

Many thanks Bill, much appreciated. I must confess that I was not aware that tha Santa Fe was so shy about being filmed, as it seemed that you were trying to overcome colour-bleed in a lot of the more close up shots, in particular the traditional war bonnet scheme. The rest was as usual superb especially the drone shots of the approach to summit.

Actually, the color problem that looks like the red bleeding into the silver is a lighting issue. Notice at 0:25 seconds the distinct line of red tint on the ground parallel to the siding. That is from the lighting directly above in the upper level valance. Also notice at 1:00 where the locos run out from under the upper level, how the color becomes correct. It's possible that the color correction could be improved for this sequence, but that is beyond my rudimentary color grading skills. There are some other clips where the red words "Santa Fe" on a silver gray background become indistinct. I suspect that is due to a lack of contrast in the luminance aggravating deficiencies in the video compression algorithm. The "drone shot" was done with a hand-held camera looking down from the mezzanine.

It seems like more of a Santa Fe kinda day and the only BNSF unit is a patched BN unit! Come on you gotta show the cascade green more love then that!

When we have a special event like BNSF Days, CMRM volunteers bring their personal trains. So the train mix just depends on what the volunteers bring.
