BNSF, Metrolink, and Amtrak Action In Santa Fe Springs City Limit

After getting some good action at the double crossings in Santa Fe Springs, I headed to the last crossing in the city limit to catch the action at Rosecrans Ave. Notice the third track that is currently under construction as the main line from Hobart yard to Fullerton will be three tracks. Bonus scenes include a late Southwest Chief and Santa Fe Warbonnets. As always, sorry for the shakiness.

Rosecrans and Marquardt Avenues in Santa Fe Springs...now a rare grade intersection crossing. You're right, Broken Louie! The CA hi-speed rail authority reports that 109 trains and 52,000 vehicles cross this intersection DAILY! The rail authority also says it is expected to start bridge construction by 2019.

Enjoy this crossing while it lasts; sooner or later, it will be grade-separated by mta, as part of the grade separation program.

mutanay77 it’s still a work in progress, and most likely is delayed right now due to COVID-19. It’s not yet estimated when it will be done
