BNSF & Union Pacific Trains | Tehachapi Smoke Out | Fall 2021 [4K]

A Fall collection of BNSF and Union Pacific freight trains taken over the Mojave subdivision through the Tehachapi Pass in California. Due to wildfires north of this location, smoke has filled the air and added an unique tone to the footage. A monster grain train, stack trains, and manifests all battle the grades of the pass. Enjoy!

It’s was an awesome catch. After we went our separate ways, we caught up with this southbound outside Mojave. Paced it on a Sierra Hwy. down Ansel all the way into Rosamond and then to Palmdale. It was epic dude! Missed you!

Wonderful video! Smoke can really make the images cameras capture look good, unfortunately definitely not ideal conditions health wise, the frame rate on your camera is excellent too, very smooth motion. Got a great variety of locations in this video. I especially love Marcel and the hill above tunnel 2, the trains look like snakes there, thats where the grains get the nickname “Earthworm” lol. Also great catch with that EX-SP on point of the Trona potash train In Rosamond. The ones with the flashing ditchlights are around but aren’t exactly easy to find.

Nice catch. That loaded grain train is referred to by railfans as “The Worm”.
