I am sobbing as I'm listening to her read this. Much needed for my inner child. Sent to my niece immediately. :) Thank you.

Kids mocked me for my eyes growing up. This story touched my heart. I am so elated that it is now available to this current generation. What a treasure to share!

This book caught my eye while I was strolling around in an Indigo store. It's the most beautiful thing I've read. Struggled with loving my features ever since I was young, this book made me appreciate them more.

Thank you so much for writing this book, Joanna. It brought me to tears (in a good way!). I don't have kids yet but I'm buying it now to read so I can read it to my kids one day, and will read it to myself until then!

What a sweet story! I think I'll buy this for my part Korean kids. My husband said he was made fun of as a kid for his "squinty eyes," but I love their Asian eyes.

I borrowed this book from the library and wow, what a wonderful story and the illustration is so amazing that I want to buy a copy to add to my archive. I also want to print the flowers in the pages as wallpapers!

Thankyou for such a gorgeous book . I’ve purchased for my biracial granddaughters ..just perfect as they have asked me why they look different from their friends at daycare and school . Bilingual version would be awesome so their taiwanese grandma can share in the joy of this book.

With all due respect, I could not stand to read this to my daughter. To me, the book starts out like there is a problem with Asian eyes. “My eyes are not big and beautiful like my friends’ but my mom and gramma and little sister have the slanty eyes too, and they’re good people. My mom says I’m beautiful anyways and she loves me. “

I agreed. Kids don’t notice abt this differences till they brought it up on purpose. Usually are the adults making fun in front of their children so they followed

Pretty sure you can get your eyes from your father 🤦♀️ ridiculous to write a book about family yet completely erasing fathers and grandfathers 🙄
