The line "but no-one entertains the thought that maybe God does not believe in you" is so powerful and existential, it always hits me hard.

It’s actually so fun to watch someone start so close to his older stuff when he was all about shock value going now into his stuff where his songs comedy is just to set you up for the 5 ton anvil of meaning and feels he’s about to hit you with. The newer and newer stuff will give you full body goosebumps constantly.

Every show he makes has a clear message behind it. He'll pick a topic for it and develop a whole thing around it, it just so happens that it went from his views on artistry and his own experiences with the entertainment industry to isolation and depression. All of his shows have a meaning behind them, be it how people treat him as an artist or how superficial the internet has become. He's just talking about things that more people can relate to now instead of a select few.

@@thegirlwhoships Does your formula equate to HIM becoming more superificial? Considering the Nature of the Internet is based on limited sensory engagement, decreased cognitive progression or balance and growing amounts of depraved online material meant to hasten Humanity's decline, far enough past acceptable boundaries to make 'Ra's Al Ghul' himself stir things up again, with a new faction, 'The Guild of Projected-Ex Bosses'. 🤗 Considering the combined failure of Scarecrow, Bane AND "Plain Sight" daughter Talia, 'Rah-G' may look towards a more...REMOTE occupation, (Masks Not Allowed) Anime-EXORCISM!!

@@versetripn6631 I appreciate the references LOL I don't personally think it's about his content being more superficial. Speaking from his most recent work, I think he's clever in showing what he means, be it directly (a literal song about what the internet has become) or indirectly (imagery of himself in a clear thirst trap and the crucifying in an apology song to visually mock apology videos online) and he continues to be very self-aware with his opinions and actions. Bo's always talked about how society has issues and judged it, while still admitting he's a part of it and being in the entertainment business is assisting with some of it, as well as doing what he does for his own self-named selfish reasons. Maybe even he sees himself as superficial, since he's doing content still, but I don't.

The two versions of repeat stuff are different and liked for different things, but the one thing the studio version definitely has over the live version is the slow pull in on the mother's face as she looks increasingly concerned until she suddenly looks at the camera. True art. Equally artful: the demonic SWAG.

You’re definitely right that he’s not a pop star lol but I feel like during that era, he kind of fell into the trap of coming across as a bit of a teen idol because he was, at the time, one of the youngest comedians (if not the youngest) and he had come from KZbin, which was also a new thing. So, he was in his late teens and early 20s (the time when celebrities have a teen fanbase anyway) and the demographic of his side of KZbin was pretty much in the same age range at the time, assuming that my generation wasn’t stumbling onto his content in elementary school lol These days internet celebrities are very common, so it’s not really handled the same way.

There exist a live recording of what appears to be an older version of From Gods Perspective. Thats called ”Oh My God” which is a lyrically similar but significantly angrier version of the song. Id consider it both funnier and more energic. Even if the quality of the recording is somewhat questionable, and it doesnt have the more uplifting ending.

I felt sorry for Bo there for a while, I had been watching him since he did videos in his room, and after he was finally performing and doing shows in front of an audience it seemed people started looking at him differently. I can’t say for sure as I don’t know him at all, only speculate from what I’ve seen and heard him talk about but, he went through a rough time, and quit. But he seems to be doing better (I hope) these days, and his special Inside is great. I loved every minute of it.

Yeah, he definitely has a dark view of pop culture and pop music and it’s effects on children, especially. I think his video was a metaphor for the music industry, like it insinuates itself into children’s homes and minds, takes their love (i.e., their heart), and uses it for money (i.e., consumes it). So when you look at it that way, it does kind of seem evil. I love the extended metaphors he uses, just makes you think about things in a new way.

Bo has always gone very hard against the mainstream bastardization and marketing of "Art" repeat stuff is one of the most direct call out of it. Thing like Welcome to KZbin, Country Song, Welcome to the Internet, and I'm sure several others all touch on how much it all comes down to money. I think part of it comes down to Bo hating that he is a part of the very system he finds so appalling. Which is why he "casts" himself as the demon possessed one in the video.

The "Satan" stuff is very much metaphorical. Representing the general hidden darkness underneath the pop music machine. It's kind of a generic metaphor, and plays more into popular tropes than mythology, but it's pretty widely recognizable symbolism for just a very broad and general concept of "evil". It's more about the shameless greed and the manipulation and exploitation that feeds it.

So you're still a ways off from this but when you finally make it to his special "Inside" I would recommend reacting to the full special in one sitting and then editing it into more manageable pieces to upload. No other reaction channel has done this as far as I know and Inside is something that really deserves to be consumed as a whole rather than just snippets of individual songs.
