Bo never fails to amaze me with his smart, witty and generally biting lyrics. This is probably my favourite song by him, as I also went to a Catholic school and found many problems in the teachings, He's got a lot to say and thank that Giant-White-Man-With-a-Beard-or-a-Sword he isn't afraid to say it.

This song is actually called rant.
@dweb0810 жыл бұрын
yes it is called rant but when he was first demoing it to see if it got popular he didn't really have a name for it if you look this video is from 5 years ago so he hadn't named it rant yet

I don't know what the best thing about this video is... is it the mic stand being way too short? His belt doing absolutely nothing? The V-neck t-shirt? The running jump up to the stage? Most of the comments are from 12 years ago? His t-shirt tanline? Or the fact that I somehow know all the lyrics despite never learning them, and have only listened to this song all the way through, like, 5 times?

Yeah, he said it in an interview that the Helen Keller is just easy laughs. His new stuff is without a doubt genius. You actually have to listen to get it. It's pure genius.

This song actually does an excellent job at describing my caveats with organized religion. Not to mention Bo is freaking fantastic. He did this at his show in Pittsburgh and I was really taken back but even then I missed a lot of it. To hear it here again filled in the blanks. He's a lyrical genius as always!

I agree with you. The message in the song, while humorous, describes alot of things that turn me off of organized religion, too. I saw him in St. Louis and when he played this song, I was totally in awe of how really AWESOME this was. Now that I found the full lyrics, it makes it that much more amazing.

He meant that people all from the start Each have slaves within their hearts Things that we have sold or bought Then are forced to pick our moral cotton God calls us to set these free Free our hearts from slavery And then as God goes on to explain The logistics of buying and selling slaves He was just fuckin around In the back I sit and I nod To the beats that are bumping from my iPod My god they're starting to pray And over the music I can hear them say "Dear God, Dear Lord"

Whether or not God actually hates gay people is moot point. He isn't just making a commentary about God or Christianity, but also about some Christians themselves. I'm sure if God exists he doesn't truly hate gay people, but that doesn't stop many ignorant people from shouting "God hates queers" and things of the like, and believing it. A big part of this song is making a statement about how some people view and interpret their religions, often hypocritically with a personal and unsavory bias.

It seems like he just plays his older songs so that people don't go away thinking they didn't get what they paid for. pssh his new stuff is IN CRED IBLE. no lie.

Obama could you pass some hope to the pope. I know a couple dudes who want to elope. See the Church said nope so bros can't cope. The bros can grope but the bros can't cope. They've been in love and they've been addicted. Who said they shouldn't? Benedict did. Cause in the holy land of the Lord. He's the holy landlord
