From someone that OWNED this game as a kid...... The key feature was to play it in the dark...... The finger on the spinner also glowed in the dark.... While we played we would tell haunted stories to freak each other out....The only downfall was the game was poorly made and did not withstand the wear and tear of bratty kids.....Thanks for the memory.

Ther snakes were tan rubber bands cut in half & small plastic bones. Got it for my October birthday in 4th grade. Dad made a base for the spinner.😊😊

I still have my Green Ghost game from when I was a youngen. Early on, our dog chewed up one of the little ghosts and another just disappeared. But two years ago, I found a guy on eBay who was selling reproductions and I purchased two. They are identical in every way and I can’t tell them apart from the originals. Over the years, I’ve pulled Green Ghost out to play with my niece, nephew and grand niece and in each case they became too frightened to play in the dark. I don’t know whether that’s because younger generations are easily frightened or because I’m just too spooky to play with.

The dark throws kids off, it's out of their norm. Unlike us monster kids :)

I had this game as a kid. I loved the glow in the dark feature and reaching down into the feathers... Ooooo spooky

The spinner sounds just like I remember it!! I got this for Christmas around 1966, and it was my favorite board game. It was super spooky playing it in the dark and reaching down into the feathers and bones. Great memories, thank you for demonstrating this!!

We had this game growing up. Wish I could find the commercial for this and Kabala that were on tv.

We had this game. We were playing it one night and our father snuck outside and scared the living tar out of us. They remade it for a little while, wished I would have bought one. It would be neat to play it with my granddaughters....

We got this for Christmas one year back in the 60's. I remember setting it all up, but I don't think we ever played a game to the end.

I think we played games like that a lot in our days. Changed the rules and made life easier. :)

Kelly is the missing ghost all the other ghosts are looking for throughout the game. Each ghost is named for a shade of green.

Oh boy! 1965!! ..This far-out game came out right in the middle of the original runs of the TV Series "The Addams Family", and "The Munsters"! Seems like it surely was a cool time to be a kid with all the fun and "spooky" stuff going on back then! Thanks for showing and sharing this one..I totally dig it! Be well both of you, and have a groovy rest of the week ahead! Take Care! Ms. Elizabeth 🌼🌺🌼🌺🌼

I had the game when I was a kid. I think 67 or 68. Pain in the butt to keep the board glowing brightly in the dark and prevent it from falling apart while playing. But, very cool. We had a good time... I also had Ka-bala.

I never had Ka-Bala, I want one so bad. Black lights work to keep things glowing, lots of practice with my first love, the Aurora monsters.

@@boardgamearchaeology1880 Interesting. I think I managed to finally get a black light a couple/three years after we started playing Green Ghost. Had to have them w/ the cool, black light posters on the wall :) I kept quite a few of my childhood toys. It KILLS me that I didn't Green Ghost and Ka-Bala. Not sure why.

alot of potential here, but I note a few design issues: e.g., a glow in the dark board yet you can't see the pieces in the dark? a playing board on 6 legs that could destroy the game if any one of them fall off? still, from a historical point of view, great stuff. I'd love to hear some of the background about who designed this and how much it sold etc.

The bones were just little black plastic sticks, maybe an inch long? It's been a long lomg time.... Do you think the average internet gamer could figure out this game? Or is it just something thew would throw all around comglaiming "this is BORING!!!! It's so dull!!!!"....
