I think jail could maybe be like a stipulation to you TBR like maybe “read the longest one first” “read your most anticipated from the list last” and the book jail means that maybe you have pick books that have been on your TBR the longest because in actuality they are in book jail😂

Jail could be adding a book from your previous TBR that you didn’t read (as a +1 book) and you have to finish now or else. Book jail could be hard prompts like: finish this TBR or you’re in a book ban for a month, or finish certain series before being able to read this other books

i love love LOVE All the Light We Cannot See, I have only read it once and that is simply because it is a tragedy. not like a bad book, because it is a masterpiece!! but because it is so so sad, like rip out your heart, cry multiple times and then sob at the end. however, one of the best books i have read to this day!

Your videos are very fun! I am binge watching TBR game vids to get inspiration for my own game. I do have an idea for your “jail” and “book jail” spaces. In regular Monopoly the “jail” space has a just visiting spot on it so you could include it in your rolls instead of skipping it. This would leave the only way to get into “book jail” would be to land directly on the “jail” spot. Your chances of something less desirable happening would then not be as high. When you do land on your “jail” space you can have separate cards to pull from that have “punishments”. For example, perhaps at the end of the game you have to give up the book you are most excited for, or maybe you have to read a book from your least favorite genre. Obviously you will know best what would be a punishment for you. Lastly for if and when you roll and land on the “book jail” space then maybe you can choose at random one card to remove from the “punishment cards” for that game. Hope this suggestion helps you figure out what to do with your jail spots.

For Book Jail and Jail. You can have book jail for books that have been on your TBR for the longest, and for jail you can do where you reread a DNF book. And a though for the TBR board game start, you can have it where if you land on it you get to pick one of your newest books on your TBR pile to read that month.

The best advice I can give someone making a board similar to this, draw the outline then use clear sticky notes and a silver sharpie. The sticky notes come in a lot of sizes and you can always cut them to fit your needs. But you can refresh your board as much as you want. And you can tailor it for different seasons or reading moods. I.e. you read more thrillers in the colder months or want more romance options for February.

My corner spaces a mood read, start a new series, new release, and start or finish a duology. I don’t use so called hard prompts or challenging spaces. I use it to guide my reading but I can see others wanting to challenge themselves. But for me, it’s mean to be fun. I’m not trying to stress myself out or limit myself with something as insane as not being able to buy books because I rolled some dice. But that’s just me. 😂

Book Jail Suggestions!! Someone else, family or friend, picks a book from your TBR for you to read. Choose a book you know nothing about, which could be an older book handed down or borrowed. You could also do it based on length, so you would have to choose a short or long novel, even or odds with dice. My last suggestion is close your eyes and pick from your jar of them all mixed. Hopes this helps and such a creative concept!

Book jail could mean you have to redo your previous roll which gives you get a second chance at choosing a book for your TBR. Therefore, jail can either be an advantage or a punsihment as it could remove something you wanted or a book you werent currently wanting to read ❤❤❤ Love your vids xx

Book Jail could be 1 star rated book on Goodreads! And for the genre, you could draw a card for different genres!

1. Book jail could be books you previously DNF’d 😂 and Jail could be a genre you don’t enjoy/read as much. Like nonfiction, self help, historical etc. etc. 2. One of them could be removing a book, that the board game chose, that you were most excited be to read from your tbr. ORRRR unhauling a book from your physical tbr. 3. I previously mentioned in a previous video, letting your subscribers pick a book monthly. You could change one of those boxes to subscribers/followers choose

For Jail you could do like a "these books will self-destruct" thing where you have a stack of 10 or so books that you have had for ages and keep putting off - if you land on Jail you have to choose one of those. For Book Jail you could maybe do like you can't buy any books that month until you finish all the books that the game chooses (like you're "locked in your TBR")
