I really, really hate that private equity is swallowing up the hockey equipment manufacturers. Equipment is already so expensive. How are you supposed to grow the game and let kids and other people learn to play and continue to play when it’s already hard enough to afford equipment?

@@anthonyfaccaro7118 Ah, Dummy, don’t you read the news. The NHL paid the Coyotes owner $1 billion to walk away. He gave up all rights to the team and the TEAM WAS SOLD to the guys in Utah. There is NO obligation to put a team in Arizona and Atlanta and Houston are MILES ahead of Phoenix in the expansion pecking order.

I haven't heard that AZ would be guaranteed to have an expansion in the immediate next expansion, only that if Murello got his shit together he'd w/in 5 years he would have a guaranteed opening to come back in. That said, Murello also said he gave up his rights so I expect, if he legally did, rights go back to the NHL at large who might or might not do anything at all in AZ for a while.

The pre season results, score wise, mean nothing at all to me. I am only interested in the young players, trying to make their team for the first time, who are still competing for a roster spot, at this point in the pre season.

During the 2004-05 lockout I was following the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on the radio I bet after when put together a new CBA they probably come out and announced new expansions(My own accord ), 32 is enough

Good on Benn, any team would be lucky to have him. Dallas has been a powerful team but lacking those few critical depth pieces. The future is bright for Dallas but Tampa just went through a similar thing with Stamkos and something about Benn mentioning this is reminiscent of watching Stamkos walk from the Lightning's balk offer. The quiet thing loud here is that Benn's probably positioning himself to say "hey put me on a team where I can be a cup contender" with whatever vitality he's got left in the tank.

@@simonmeikle9037 admittedly I'm a Tampa fan more of a Dallas fan, but I live close to Dallas so by proxy I sorta follow what they've got going on. I really like watching Jason Robertson's play, but also Benn has consistently been a problem when the Lightning play them :)

@@justjohnny420 It's a convenient way to give a weekly update on each team in the league, who's hot and who's not. You could do the same thing, list the teams in random order and not call it a power ranking, but it would be the same thing.
