The promo card is actually pretty powerful in my opinion, but it depends on what cards are drafted. For example, if someone pulls out a Scepter of Greatness, you know they're going to probably put it in year 3 to get the most benefit out of it. A lot of people put their points-only cards (Ragfield's Helm. Lantern, etc.) in the third year, so those can be easily predicted too. The same thing can be said for early-game cards. Hourglass of Time is probably being played in the first year, and you can probably get the points for summoning your banisher quicker than they can get 4 energy. It is also an extremely effective counter for the multiple-temporal-boots strategy. If you saw two of them in the draft, along with cards that let someone pick up magical items, you can banish those boots to keep the strategy from working (though you'll get no energy out of it.)

Hi Nick! I watched the video of the other expansion yesterday. I like your style of reviewing because it is in-depth but not dry and boring. I ordered both expansion sets last night, though we are only going to play with the first one for a while. My girlfriend and I have just only discovered Seasons but fell in love with it straight away and it could easily become our favourite game! :) We're looking forward to add a bit of randomness to the game with the enhancement cards and ability tokens, and there's the die of destiny as well, of course, so much fun is on the way!!!!
