I greatly appreciate the fact that you consider matters of cost, when applicable, in your reviews. This is one aspect that provides a qualitative difference between your coverage, and that of Dice Tower. I watch and enjoy their reviews, but you recognize the fact that >most< people must take in to account their budget when it comes to game purchases and your content reflects that reality. There is a significant financial aspect of this hobby and you understand that impact on the end user. I could be mistaken, but I suspect some content providers who receive review copies of games may not be as cognizant of how costs routinely impact buying decisions. Thank you for understanding that issues of value and price are important to your viewers. At least they are to me.

I think I'll wait for the expansions to come out before picking this up.

I was shocked they didn't have an expansion module. But I bet if it sells they will in a second.

I preoreded this as soon as I was able to because I always wanted Foundations of Rome, but the price for the gameplay value was a bit too much for me. I have not gotten my copy yet, but I'm disappointed that it doesn't come with the monuments. Thematically, I thought for sure it would translate to parks or city attractions or something. Hopefully, we'll get that expansion soon.

This is a day 1 purchase for me. Rome was never an option at that price point.

Why is the solo mode not included in Metropolis ?
@BoardGameCo5 ай бұрын
If I recall correctly, the solo mode had additional components, I think it was even separate in the original game. And also, I don't know if I cared for it

I'm very happy for people who can't justify paying for and storing Foundations of Rome, that this exists (and i give those people tons of respect for their discipline). That being said, Foundations of Rome is my most played game of 2024, and we play with monuments, objectives, and roads. Between the expansions and the table presence, I love FoR.

Regarding who pays for the lot, if it's anything like politics in ancient Rome, or nowadays, it's probably about favours and nepotism... 😁

The metropolis aesthetic is not doing it for me, maybe if it was in a forest or fantasy theme.

Interesting, I like this look more than Rome. More vibrant in my opinion. And for my Color blind friend I think it would help with all the tokens being a different shape
