I'm not sure I ever even heard of this game, but I like the theme personally much more than the Rome one, and I think it's neat to have another theme like this for people who might enjoy this one. I've definitely heard of Foundations of Rome and I know it won high accolades. Thanks so much for the tutorial! :)

Why aren't the prestige points printed on the building tiles? Are we not supposed to know how many points each building awards until they are built?

I suppose that's more of a publishing question than a rules question. I don't have any insight there, sorry.

Foundations of Rome comes with some "in the box" optional expansions, but my understanding is that the core rules are the same.

I've played Foundations of Rome, I watched this video to compare and its exactly the same game, same rules, same point values, etc., just the buildings look different and have different names. And I wouldn't be surprised if the extra content from Rome will be released as expansions for Metropolis later.
