Please help me out here. Dave asks a question at 43:47 and I believe he gets the wrong answer.Then later, at 57:20, Lincoln does the same action which is resurfacing BEFORE marking the the domino. To me the rules are clear as they state the order as 1) chose and place a domino (must), 2) mark the domino (must, if you can), 3) resurface (may) and 4) replenish (must). To me, at 57:20, Lincoln must mark the blue side of the domino with a cat. Then it is no longer open for resurfacing. Do you agree?

Nikki's comment on the "take that" aspect was right on. In the first round there was a double yellow tile that no one was going to bring down because it would have been great for Niki. There is certainly strategy in this game. I can't decide how big a role the tile draw plays in the game or if you can strategize around it. It looks interesting. Not sure how much frustration it can engender. I would like to try it for sure. King Domino on steroids. LOL! Thanks for the content you folks.

I don't mind "take-that games", but I think I like them better in hidden-information games, like Ingenious. It's easy to armchair us (it's ok) and easy for others to say, "you made the wrong move" or "you set this person up" during the game.

I would be interested to try the game with randomly drawn tile options.

34:48 Dave could take Lincoln's suggestion, then (I know it's early, but could be worth it) cover his only brown square with a restructure tile, green face up. Lots of water lilies!

@23:00 dont blame me please. Did not Lincoln have to place red pawn on tile?

Dave's 2nd placement on 2nd tier is wrong according to your rules...it's supposed to be attached to previously placed tiles on that tier, and Dave's placement was in the opposite corner.

Wow! Can't believe Lincoln made available the 2 mask tile, and that Mike did NOT take it to make a huge mask field!!! (To end his second level.)

It was Mike's first game and he probably was focusing on something else. I'm not sure if this was the play but I think I put that tile down hoping I might get it the next round. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln

Yah, I didn't see the "correct play".
@mindyfranke5279 Жыл бұрын
Didn't Dave's second level 2 tile need to be placed contiguous to the first one?
@boardgamegeek Жыл бұрын
Mindy, you are correct! He should have placed adjacent to his first tile on that level. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln

Oh, man, Once we moved up a level, I totally forgot about that rule. My first play, as well. I kinda suspected there was maybe something wrong about my ability to finish so strongly :)

Hello, guys. It's OK. From the second floor, all tiles are contiguous with any first-level tiles. Nothing wrong with Dave's play. (From the author)

Didn't Nikki forget to place her scarab in round 3, which would have given her a new lowest color of a single point? (Only would have decreased her total by 3 anyways, so not that this changes anything in the end.)

36:56 Illegal placement by Dave?
@boardgamegeek Жыл бұрын
Matt, we had some clarification after the episode went live that everything from level 2 up is adjacent so in the end he was correct but as described in our video he placed in the wrong spot. We did have a very preproduction version of the game so I'm not sure what the rules read on the released version. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln

Thanks Lincoln. It looks like everyone else *thought* they had to place adjacent to another tile on the same level. I wonder if that gave Dave an unintended advantage?

if you have to use a Resurface tile to fill one hole, does that mean you have to use two tiles to fill two holes?
@boardgamegeek Жыл бұрын
Yes, there can be no openings in each level. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln
@chilibeannikki Жыл бұрын
Hi, not sure if I understand the question. If you have 2 separate holes (square hole) you will have to play resurfacing tiles to fill each of those holes.
@jeffwilson4135 Жыл бұрын
This could be unbalanced if one player doesn't like the "take that" aspect and just fills the quarry randomly. You could remove that aspect by just having three piles instead of 5 behind the quarry and not flip over the top tiles on the piles.
