I love the idea of playing boardgames, but we seldom do. (Thanks for all the tips here.) I'd love more recommendations on beginner friendly games, especially for 1-3 players. ❤

I’m also really enjoying Capt Flip - plenty of fun little decisions, and it really does seem to be enjoyable for everyone. Things in Rings looks great, I’ll have to get that one. My current big obsession is Marabunta - a sharp, small 2 player game, that’s a mix of roll & write, I split/you choose and area control.

Apothebakery looks super cute! Also going to try and see a demo of Things in Rings at Gencon. A bad rulebook really does ruin a game. We once played Tiny Epic Galaxies and the rulebook was sooooo bad that we swore off any game ever made by them

I absolutely love these videos! I'm always looking for new games to add to our collection and your reviews are the best. My partner and I have been playing Mansions of Madness a lot lately and having a great time. I know you said you didn't like Betrayal, but I think you may like this. It has a similar vibe and gameplay without the things you disliked.

Oh I LOVE mansions of madness. It’s got betrayal vibes for sure, but cuts out the betrayal stuff I don’t like. I’m glad you’re enjoying it!!

I am now really getting into the board game side of the internet. Idk if i should thank you or blame you because i feel like i don't have people to play with as often as i would personally like 😂 🥺 I will now be the friend that brings the "weird board games" on game nights!

I've played Captain Flip on Board Game Arena and I enjoy it. The game is under the premium program there, but you can jump into someone else's game even if you don't pay for a membership. I liked your thoughts on character specializations when you were talking about Last Light. When I play a game that I am unfamiliar with and it lets players pick a character to play, I usually go for one that has a specialization I can understand so I have something to aim for while I am learning the nuances of the game.

Things in Rings - saw your video about on fb maybe a week ago. Your excitement on this one got me calling my local board game shop for the first time to see if they could preorder for me. Mid July I’ll be getting it and am so excited to play it at some of the coffee shops and breweries around. 💕

Great list! You do an amazing job of describing what makes these games so fun! I already had Things in Rings preordered, but you reminded me I need to get Blob Party, and you absolutely sold me on Apothebakery, which I'll be late-pledging, and Last Light, which I hadn't realized played so fast. I'll be picking that one up asap! Thanks for the recommendations!

As someone who enjoys word games like Scrabble, Things in Rings looks like a really fun word game, that involves a lot of thinking. I think my favourite game that you showed is Apothabakery, what an adorable, cozy game. The way you described the story of the game, that the players own a little shop in the forest and cure adventurers through apothecary concoctions in baked goods, that sounds like the beginnings of a cozy fantasy story. Cozy, open ended games like Mythwind that you can play on your own or coopeotvly with others, that also have a story to them that you play through, are some of my favourite games to play, Apothabakery would definitely fit into that cozy game space. Also the little Forries that you get to send out to get ingredients for the healing cures, are absolutely adorable

I always love your take on board games. I've recently been playing Flamecraft solo and Draftosaurous with a friend of mine. I also taught my aunt and cousin to play Draftosaurous and the difference in the 2 and 3 player mechanics was a lot of fun.
