Brother, two years ago, you had such a hard time culling anything. Look at you now. There is hope 😉

I think after about 12 years in the hobby, I have also hit the point of more easily culling games…good ones, even great ones. I guess I have gotten more picky, or just realize that I want to play the games we already love more often, and that it’s even okay to let go of a former love if it’s not going to get picked much any more. It can be challenging, but it feels really good when you let go of a game and realize you are totally fine without it.

It's still a very feeling based thing for me. The feeling inside me will tell me if it's ok to cull or not. It's gotten easier to cull, but there are so many games on these shelves that will never leave!

@ same here! Those are the ones I know I would rebuy one day if they ever got ruined. I try to be a little slow with culling so I don’t end up with regrets.we have 140 games, and realistically, 50 would probably be enough…but I am aiming to eventually get around 100.

one nice thing about covering these unplayed games, for us as the audience, if we are interested in them they typically are available to buy now rather than having to wait for it to release.

I love the Keep Or Lake segments. 😂 Keep em coming. Hope you are both well.

Thanks for clarifying whether you are culling a game because it is bad, or because it is not quite good enough to keep.

Happy it’s helpful! We always try to make that clear! So many good games, but we cannot keep them all 😂

You're doing it! At this rate, you will get through all 150 of them in no time! And Sunniva, you are right, the Shelf of shame games will probably fall more into the cull category simply because it took that long to get them to the table to begin with so that means they will have to surprise you and be something really special that you discover and want to play to keep it in your collecton or it will just end up back on the same spot collecting dust again.

Working hard to get through as many as we can before new games start coming in!

@BoardGamingRamblings I guess you can get a twisted kind of relief in knowing some kickstarters may never show up at all! LOL

I own Kreta and was annoyed when BGG started saying I own Sardegna, but now I sort of wish the box on my shelf had changed too. That's a nice cute little package

I taught Mori to myself, but found it kind of random. Maybe I just sucked, but it felt hard to purposefully do anything. It reminded me of Nosoku Dice, which is a much better game.

Hey :) I answered your other comment about this, and we nearly never play anything solo. Sadly, we won't be of any help with solo, but hopefully you'll enjoy the content anyways :D

My shelf of shame has way better games than the game shop.
@BoardGamingRamblings2 күн бұрын
That is awesome! 🤩
@yarondavidson6434Күн бұрын
This is probably the same for most people. I mean, the games in a game shop are usually curated by someone else based on what they think will have general mass appeal, while the games in any individual person's collection will usually be curated by what that person actually thought they'd like to play. So the chances of those being better for them is way higher.

the biggest cull ever starts of with the smallest game ever...(if you keep only big game then they are easier to fit into ethethor!)

Culling seems a little arbitrary. Are you sure, you dont cull for culls sake only?
@BoardGamingRamblingsКүн бұрын
For a while, you could ask if I kept just because I didn't want to cull, but never the other way around. With so many games, we don't want to, or have space to keep them all. The new games are easier to cull, as they haven't really found a home on the shelves at all, and most games we play aren't better than other games we already own, or give enough of a different feeling to keep them. We keep many games throughout the year, but we also cull a lot!
