Boarding MSC Meraviglia from New York 2024

We drove from Montreal to New York to board MSC Meraviglia. Cruise leaves From Brooklyn and the stops were to Port Canaveral, Miami, Ocean Cay, Nassau, and back to NYC.

How cool! We were considering that one too but Dori was out of town. It’s a nice short drive from home. A little chilly but otherwise amazing. How was the weather on your cruise?

@@DoriMena You are probably in port canaveral now, hence why you are able to reply back. For us, the weather in port canaveral was pretty cold but im sure for you guys it will be warm. Mexico was hot and bahamas had the nicest beach in the world but it was really windy for us

Wow that's an impressive buffet. How was the buffet pizza? What was your favorite food?

We love the buffet. Lot of selection, great sweets and good pizza. The staff is outstanding. Probably the best of all our 6 cruises. We’re having a great time so far.

At which time of day did you arrive at the terminal? I sail it soon and am most concerned about its boarding back-ups.

It was at about 11 am. We breezed right through well in advance of our reserved time.

What specialty restaurants did you enjoy the most? We’re going in two days same port…any advice for me ? Never been on a cruise before

We looove cruising. We always feel really spoiled on cruises. We never pay for the specialty restaurants. We make the most of the free food and entertainment to save money for other things such as activities, photos and excursions. My best advice is to wash your hands often and don’t let anyone else’s experience bias yours. Walk in as a blank slate. And maybe pack slippers. Definitely slippers.

When i was on the Meraviglia the ice machine was always out of order and the water tasted like disinfectant. Is it still like that?

We tend to put a splash of fruit juice in the water first. I have had the water without and it’s not spring water but it’s not awful. One of the ice machines is broken but there are multiple machines, so we just move on to the next one. I generally drink a half glass of water with a teaspoon of vinegar prior to eating. We parked it at the parking lot next to the liberty view hotel. Expensive but less expensive than the port and super convenient.

The terminal has parking, however, it is expensive, about 45 a day.
