I’ve been listening to BOC for over 2 years now and i honestly feel like their music is connected to me in a way. It sounds really weird but i feel like my life would’ve been different if i didn’t stumble upon their music That transition from Boqurant into 5.9.78 literally sounds like my childhood. I always saw Boqurant as a funeral hymn of sorts, the sound of quiet mourning, very personal misery. 5.9.78 is catharsis, emotional release, possibly the light at the end of the tunnel. One is exhausted, yet the hope has returned. it sounds like a kind, encouraging smile from one you love.

in my last year of college we went to the italian mountains with school on a skitrip. I smuggled some weed along with me. every morning we were due at 8 am at the top of the mountain, ready in gear. Every morning at 6h30 i would roll a small joint, get to the ski lift at 7am en take the 15 min lift up to the mountain, smoking that small joint along the way. All the powder was just fresh up there. On the top of the mountain, a little weed buzz, 5-9-78 plugged into my ears, and the first descent snowboarding down when i was the only single soul in that snowpark. to this day one of the most beautiful moments ever. plain solitude

5.9.78 blows my mind every time I Iisten to it. The lighter melody comprised of arpeggios (is that the right word?) is impossible for me to wrap my head around, I can never seem to predict what note will be next in the pattern, so it always seems new and foreign, but every note fits perfectly and is beautiful. To me 5.9.78 feels like a hopeful new adventure full of pleasant surprises, the road ahead unknown, but not threatening.

Then during 5.9.78 , my soul drifts slowly towards a higher plane, all while experiencing all of the flashes of life experiences. Then I ascend to ultimate reality and merge with the divine at which point theres no me, theres no other. Everything is me, I am in everything and all is divine existence.

Everybody, let's discuss the possible meanings for the name "5.9.78". Here's my theory: It's the date of a day, that either both or one of the two brothers remember fondly, maybe because of something special and fortunate happening. One of the major motifs of their music is childhood memories, and the date being when they were 7-8 years old? It fits too well, I'd say.
