Whenever I listen to this song, I feel like the strong percussion in the first minute kinda wipes me clean emotionally and makes me feel neutral. Then when the melody starts, I get drowned in my childhood memories. All the good and bad ones. I was abused and as a result had OCD for most of childhood after age 5-6. It's a weird feeling, because there are all these faint good memories that I have from age 3 to 5. But after age 6, it feels like something died in me, like that was the start of my sadness and pain. So although this song lets me mourn the loss of my childhood, it also brings up some good memories and reminds me that good times were possible in a distant place and a distant time. So maybe they'll be possible again sometime.

I feel the same with Telephasic Workshop. It's as if it "reworks" and resets my mind. I couldn't find a more fitting title for the song. About past abuse and stuff that is best left behind. A rework for your mind, at the Telephasic Workshop.

I can't believe this wasn't on an official album. It feels like an official track. The cut-up, distorted vocal sample really hits me for some reason. Feels like I'm trying to recover some long-lost childhood memory of an amazing experience with friends who I've lost contact with long ago, like my brain is trying to piece it all together but struggling to remember it all.

Here's what the distorted voices are saying (borrowed from the Boc pages): "When I'm with a friend / then I feel proud, and there's a Proud Me, too. / When I'm with a friend / then I feel proud, and there's a Proud Me, too. / - Me, too. / Right now, I'm the Loving Me; isn't he cute? And after I've done a real good job - I've cleaned my room, or something like that - then I feel proud, and there's a Proud Me, too. And when I'm with a friend, and we're having a good time, then I'm the Happy Me. But when my friend has to go home, then I feel a little sad, so I turn into the Sad Me. Anyway, there sure are a lot of different Me's, just like you have a lot of different You's. Well, we're going outside to - outside to play now, I hope all the different You's have fun, too! Bye!"

This song is incredibly important to me. I only come back to it a couple times a year, but that's because this track breaks me. I start absolutely bawling. I lose it. I lose all control. All childhood memories and places that are now in ruin come back to life. This song is so truly special to me, I cannot put it into words. I'm just rambling but this song is the only song that I will cry to it every time no matter what. I cannot thank boc enough for how they've changed my life; my way of thinking; my perception on beauty and art; my values of what I cherish most in life. I somehow find it impossible that music has an effect on me like this, specifically boc. why them? how are they so genius and perfect? I truly wonder in awe how they manage to do it. I just feel all over the place and boc always helps me realign, an old friend telling you its going to be okay and remember the good times. they are cruel in their nostalgia, preying on your optimism for better days like the past. I cannot think of any other ways to describe the amount of depth this band contains. It feels never ending. They are infinitely replayable. Because they are you. You insert yourself in the songs they create. they perfectly set up everything for you, all you need to do is soak it in and add yourself in the picture. Masters of their craft. I often wonder if I'll ever feel this way about a band ever again. they're powerful. They allow you to access parts of your mind you would have otherwise never been able to access. tapping into your subconscious through detuned melodies and distorted vocals. Thank you

Aah Whitewater, the track they never officially released but possibly amongst their top 5. And that's saying something because they've made so many brilliant ones. @@vico805 - my best guess, and I don’t even think I’m right, is that the types of people that are passionate about BoC tend to be intrapersonal people, and therefore you are less likely to come across the fact that you are passionate about the same relatively-obscure Scottish instrumental music 🤷♂️ but I dunno… I wear my BoC gear all the time, and once in a blue moon, very very rarely, someone will give me a passing ‘hell yeah’…. It’s funny. In the lyrical loop in the background of the song, the boy talks about his “different me’s.” But at the end of the song, the lyrics ends with “and there’s a sad me too, anyway...” I think they intentionally ended the song with the sad me, pointing to how we feel deep sadness when feeling nostalgic for all the different me’s we had in childhood.
