Rothstein was actually ahead of the curve with this deal. The D’Alessio brothers signed a 500K lifetime insurance policy and Nucky wanted them all dead. Rothstein received 2 million and gave one million to Nucky, keeping a million for himself and the cherry on top, he avoided being indicted. Genius.

Jimmy was always a footman, never a general. He never could make out in terms of strategies. I dont know if people realize but Rothstein was a criminal pioneer in many vices and periods of time in his life. Check out his bio book. I think at one point he had a bail bonds business and long standing ties with the lawyers and judges on his clients cases. So his criminal clients had security from persecution. For a premium of course. Also he had very strong ties to tammany hall which was the dominant political party at that point in time.
