The starving ones had a vastly increased aggro range as well, so it made avoiding them especially difficult if you were just trying to get around.

Ohhh, only the boars? 😅 What about the 100 feet tall monstrocity that roams the west (left) side of Hellfire Peninsula map? 🤣🤣🤣 First time i saw that huge robot i (and pardon my language) $h!ted my pants. I tried to avoid it, but i noticed the bastard a little too late. XD I saw my ingame screen moving up and down (you know, like an earthquake happening in the game), but i didn't give much attention to it, since Burning Crusade was new back then. I thought it was normal for the area. Ooooohhhh, boy when i turned my camera around and saw the 100 or so feet tall machine i cr@ped my pants. 😂😂 As i said, i couldn't avoid the giant robot and died. After that i was veeeeeery careful where i was going, until i learned its path.

I was so hoping you'd have the Crag Boars on your Top 10. I actually got the WoW Cookbook specifically because I knew it had a recipe for Beer Basted Boar Ribs - and it was amazing! Better than any ribs I've had in a restaurant. 10/10 list. 10/10 recipe, will eat again.

as someone who has played a hunter since Vanilla, boars were always one of my fondest pets they used to be incredibly strong for solo leveling, able to generate a ton of threat and were fairly tanky I remember wishing that we could tame helboars so badly for years, but they were classified as demons and not beasts until Cataclysm, it was a very exciting time (I picked up a Felboar myself)

Pointless top 10's are a real highlight of my day - gg on another fun installment. That said - I was a little sad to see that none of the armored boars made the list, nor was "Agathelos the Raging" there - granted - he kind of got destroyed with the reworking of Razorfen Kraul and no longer exist in retail WOW - but are still living large in Classic and are one of my favorites.

it is kind of funny that boars are always the lvl 1 trope enemy, but boars in real life are freaking scary roid beasts that are often far more aggressive and dangerous than wolves or other predators.

I think the hellboars really completed the wow factor of going through the dark portal for the first time and stepping into hellfire peninsula so I would have put them higher for the impression they had. Also the Thistle boars in Shadowglen would have been my pick for starting zone boars, they seem pretty alien compared to other boars and Shadowglen is the only place you see them, which makes them interesting. That's all just my opinion though.

I think it's easy for people to get confused about the pointlessness of the subject matter when every video opens on saying that the subject of the list is indeed pointless. "Hello everybody, welcome back to pointless top ten, a show where we make top ten lists out of [pointless things]. Why are we flying by this pointless statue in Booty Bay? Because inside [pointless things] are treasure. Let's begin!" At the end of the day, "Inside pointless things are treasure" is really the heart of the show, but some people get too hung up on the word pointless itself.

I've been subbed to you since your playthrough of Facade way back when, but last month at the age of 32 I finally started vanilla wow for the first time ever and I'm loving it. My husband convinced me. We're duoing as Pally Lock. Almost to lvl 40 and we'll both get a free mount he tells me lol. I seriously wish I'd known back when I was in high school/college that this game is so fun. I was obsessed with Oblivion and rts games at the time instead.

Not exactly, the Draenor through BFA boars use a totally different model from the Vanilla and BC boars, with terrible animations ripped from the Direhorn triceratops skeleton

I am incredibly disappointed by the distinct lack of the most notable boar of both classic AND retail! Agathelos the Raging was truly the star of Razorfen Kraul, the most boar-centric dungeon in all of warcraft. And a terrible missed opportunity if you ask me. My favorite boar of all time are the Agam ar in RFK, Agathelos the Raging was terrifying when i first encountered him in vanilla, and then he comes running at you and hes HUGE and then he 1 shots the tank with a crit. I always thought they looked kinda cyborgy. Definitely expected them to be on the list somewhere

The other starter-quest boars that immediately spring to mind is the Mulgore ones (at least, they were there up to Wrath. Haven't levelled a Tauren in a long time) - even got a screenshot of my warrior in 2010 or so, killing one of them as a baby level 3 or so x P.S. And of *course* we're taking the pointless top 10 too seriously, that's the best part... getting worked up about something that doesn't matter even a little bit. It's refreshing, seeing as all the world seems to deal with currently, is literally life-and-death. That's why we love you, Crendor

You missed a unique on that most people don't know about, SNORTS! He is sleeping in Frosthold, the pet of an alliance explorer league. He's in full armour and the only pet that only horde can tame as a hunter. I spent ages working my way to get him without aggroing the whole place and wake him up.

Helboars are good, I would probably place them even higher but that kinda goes against what they really are. They are just boars, that are special in a simple way, which is being infused by fel energy, but that's all they are. I find that simplicity rather elegant. I feel like in more modern WoW they would be part of some evil gnome's plan or there would be a whole quest chain about fighting off the demonic boars and finding and killing whoever created them, but not in TBC. Here they are just thematically fitting boars you kill for their meat and blood samples. That's it. Also, as a long time human player, I guess that Princess is a good representative of Elwyn boars, which were forever immortalized by South Park, but personally I find Bellygrub from Redridge much more memorable, since that's a boar that killed far more adventurers than Princess, seeing how she's much more difficult to take down and people (at least in Classic) often had to group up to take her down.

The original RFK boars were the best looking in game. I tamed some years ago but now, instead of the awesome patterns they put uncomfortable looking armor plates on them ( at least the ones I tamed are changed). Just pointless FYI stuff now.

I can't decide if I like external armor plates with 3d models or the integrated plates. The integrated ones did have more intricate runes, but bent with the model unnaturally.

It's called Leytusk, not Late Tusk and while there's no lore per se, there is a smaller battle pet version available through Alchemy called Thaumaturgical Piglet, which is fun. I imagine it is called "Leytusk" coz of the its spiny growths resemble the Leystone Ore in the region.

When in doubt when making new enemy: Take existing enemy + spikes = cool new enemy. That's no regular boar, that's a SPIKY FELBOAR. Very scary.
