Living Big In A Tiny House

Күн бұрын

In this revisited episode, we are back with Evans and his incredible 20ft shipping container home. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been more than two years since we first visited Evans and his brilliantly designed 20ft shipping container home. As a retired boat builder, the level of craftsmanship and creativity in his home was truly impressive and now we are excited to be catching up with him again to see how it’s all working out years on.

Now in a new location his tiny container house has taken on a completely different look. It now sits as part of a small complex of 3, 20ft shipping container where one is a home, one an office and the other a workshop. With some landscaping and construction of a wonderful veranda with some impressive views, this shipping container has been completely transformed into a home.
Evans is now working on an exciting affordable home’s project to help others who are interested in building shipping container homes. To find out more, visit his website: c-space-solutio...

This actually brings me to tears. Evan is speaking to my heart - my husband and myself have found ourselves renting again in our 50's and have worked so hard all our married life. Thank you Bryce for what you do and the genuine interest and care you give to the people you showcase. I look forward, and hope beyond hope, that Evan does manage to build these homes. Because we can then have a home again.

Evans is extremely talented and man does it show through - in spades. I admire his desire to pass along his knowledge to others that don''t have the means to afford a 'real' home but shows them a very workable alternative - the shipping container. I applaud him for what he's doing. Thanks so much Bryce, you're always full of surprises. Take care my friend. ;)

I've wanted to live in a tiny house since I was 16 and have gone between a bus and a shipping container a car and a van. I finally decided on a wooden modified yurt for a while and then later on I'm going to build a 2 story shipping container with a pantry so I'll never feel the worry of homelessness again. This is clearly a bachelor space. A woman would interfere. (OK - I would. Because that chair, no! Also - sleeping in the kitchen - typical man idea, lol.) But he seems to be in such a good spot in life, enjoying himself. Finding a soulmate is never a given and if you are not happy with yourself, another person can only try (and probably fail) to fill a gap that you should work on.

Combined with the converted school buses, I feel like I'm 20-something again, wearing my peace belt and red bandana back in the 70s! What we were laughed at back then, is suddenly of prime interest. Not only do I love it, but I have no problem following along with all these amazing concepts.

I always liked this original the most out of all the homes shown in this series, because not making cuts in the shipping container is a real game changer. Sure makes meeting Engineering specifications easier too. We were interested because we wanted a house in a cyclone prone area that we can lock up and make vermin proof as well for when we are away for long periods of time travelling. Great to see how simple it is to stack them this time around. Be interested in seeing what he does with building these for others.

Thank you Evan! Yes sometimes a big ass bump in the road happens and before you know it your out on the streets... Being disabled only adds my to my stress. I worked hard all my adult life, and now I'm just renting a room. Thanks to this channel I now have hope that I'll have my own home again. And seeing these kinds of projects become a home means someone like me, has options...

I love this design, especially the entry porch and the deck. Plus the original bedroom, which is now a guest bedroom or simply a nap room. Just love this. This is what I'm planning on doing.

I fall into the category that this gentleman has described. I originally lost my home during the 2nd stock market crash at the same time my spouse needed an emergency operation the bills stacked up and my income alone wasn't sufficient. Now we rent and still im in a similar situation. Nonetheless this gentlemans home is beautifully personalized and he is living in his slice of heaven. God bless him and his home, he did a great job. Thx for sharing

The cabinet with a dish rack base above the sink is a fabulous idea that I´d forgotten all about. Many homes in Spain have that, too.

Thanks Bryce shipping container homes are so cool and with developmental stages you could end up with a larger home with no debt. That sounds like a great idea looking forward to the next episode!

You've featured so many beautiful homes over the years, and Evans' remains one of my all-time favorites! I think it's a combination of the warm tone of the wood and the love story built into it that sets it apart. Two years later, his wife is still with him and his home is still so beautiful. (Even if it does smell like an old fart! LOL) I'm glad to hear he's recovered from his heart attack.
