It looks like the same beach we camped on last year. At the time high tide occurred in the evening and the water had come to the edge of our tents...whew.

Hello, this is good channel for porta boat, What enhancement you did on paddle holder?
@OffTheHookFishing2 жыл бұрын
The paddle holders are just a couple of $1 spring clamps from home depot!

Can you camp on the beach there in tomales without a reservation? It’s all booked 😌
@OffTheHookFishing2 жыл бұрын
Legally, you need a reservation. Probably better safe than sorry. Although I've yet to be checked.
@candiewilliams67052 жыл бұрын
Heard you have to have a permit and also a reservation to camp there

Hello, this is nice video and very helpful information. Is your boat 10ft or 12ft? I am considering buying the boat, but I am not sure what size I should buy. My car is standard SUV, I am thinking to install roof racks for the boat. Thanks.
@OffTheHookFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support! Mine is a 12 foot. I would say, go with 10ft if you are by yourself, but if you want 2-3 people, you'll want the 12 foot. The 8 ft would be good for solo freshwater/bay fishing and the 14 foot is too big to cartop, in my opinion. Overall, the 12 ft is just light enough for me to manage by myself, but big enough for ocean fishing with 2 people.

Did you have to pay to camp on that beach? Just wondering, planning to make trip out there.
@OffTheHookFishing3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you need to book reservations! I think they are $20 or $40 a night, and then parking at the boat ramp is $10 overnight.

@@OffTheHookFishing I'm having a hard time finding the boat-in $30 a night. On the website, it's only showing the large group $90 (for what i assume is the same exact location). Where exactly did you reserve? thanks!

Wait you did that in a foldable boat

Awesome boat bro. I bought a 14ft with new 6hp motor and still sitting in my garage for 1.5 years. So sad, do t have the stones to use it in the bay, but that’s what my intentions is.
@OffTheHookFishing3 жыл бұрын
Don't worry, the 12 foot is really stable, im sure the 14 is even more so. If you want a porta bote buddy, happy to have you join a fishing trip!

@@OffTheHookFishing Will a 16ft aluminum 5ft wide boat with 15hp be fine? People kept saying it's to sketchy to take out which i agree with them lol. It's super stable though.

@@Tonymoss44 I see tons of aluminum boats out on the water. You'll be fine!

Awesome, we had a blast! just be mindful of the tidal shift. Tomales is pretty flat near shore, so the tide covers a lot of ground.

Thanks for the info! Might be a while before I'm out there again since salmon is opening up soon... saw a bunch of anchovies and a few whales at hmb last weekend. 🤞
