I spent 2 weeks in Zihuat in 1982 at age 16 sailing with my Parents (from Gabriola Island British Columbia), it is not the little village I remember! This was our jumping off point to Hawaii. They had just started construction on the first hotel in Ixtapa! I have really enjoyed following you guys on your adventure, thank you for taking us along with you!

Becka, the best barbecue to get Zak to buy for you is the US-made Magma Kettle. This is made of top quality stainless steel, runs on LPG or Butane gas bottles and has a huge range of accessories. It can mount on a rail and because of it's unique design will cook even in high winds, they are amazing.

Marine engineer here, and I work on cruise ships (so huge RO systems). The ship I am on now has 2 CaseRO units that make 20m3 an hour each. Honestly, at times it is not enough. We never run our RO in port or at anchor as it tends to clog the prefilters up quickly, and there's a chance you can suck up sealife, diesel or oil, etc. Just a tip, run it when underway.

@@TeuluTribe Have you used the drone to scout shallows ahead of your boat yet? I've been wondering how effective that would be. Also; I hope you are not still thinking about the Aleutian Islands. Alaska is one thing, but those damned islands are just horrific. That is the worst weather in the world, and I mean that. There is no clear or dry season, and it is the only place where you get heavy fog and high wind at the same time! And I do mean HIGH, wind speeds of 140 knots have been recorded there. In the 1940s a wind gage was pegged at 110 kts. for two days, and then it was torn out of the ground by the wind. Please don't risk it.

Nice job with super securing the anchor. My Uncle sank his 36' dive boat when the anchor pounded a hole in the side in really rough sea's. Sweet lure as well used for catching dinner, not appetizers!!!

Check out how Bobby from sailing doodles lost his sailboat single hull several years ago when the anchor deployed when solo sailing off Cape hatterous and the chain got into his prop in very bad weather, he lost the boat taking on water if I remember correctly.

The Moon revolves around the Earth which revolves around the Sun, so in fact the Moon is also going around the Sun but only because the Earth is dragging it around with it.

@ if you actually draw a line follow the orbit of the moon, you will see that it looks line a circular sin wave going around the sun. Never once does it actually make a loop around the Earth. Therefore, the moon orbits the sun and not the Earth. It just looks like it does from our perspective.

But then there is the Galaxy, the Sun is orbiting around the galaxy, as well as the Moon and the Earth. And the Galaxy is orbiting around the Universe, as well as the Sun, the Earth and the Moon.

Really we are all traveling in a spiral to oblivion, something that all time travel movies seem to get wrong. If I’m standing in a 50 year old parking lot, and I go back in time 50 years, I will not witness the construction of the parking lot. I will find myself in the middle of space and die almost instantly. I like to define an orbit as a loop. Looking from the top down, a spiral still creates a loop. However, the moon never loops around the Earth. The only continuous path is a loop around the Sun. I’m guessing Zack is probably loving this conversation while Becca could care less.
