Thank you all for your patience whilst there has been a lot going on with MY Loon. I was not onboard for the incident, and have been keeping in touch with those injured. Currently I am halfway through my off rotation and will be returning back to the vessel in February. There have been some changes onboard, and I enjoy working for the owner and guests we receive on the vessel, as such I look forward to going back to a galley I love to work in. To those who reached out to check on my wellbeing, thank you for your concern, it is appreciated.

When I was about 9 years old we visited friends at their summer home in Kennybunk Port Maine. They took us out to dinner at probably the fanciest restaurant in the area, one that eventually became a favorite of Bush 41. I don't remember what my main course was but halfway through Ralph told me to save room for a very special desert... What came out of the kitchen was Baked Alaska & I ate plenty of it! In the intervening 6 decades, I have only found it on the menu once, while having dinner with a good friend. I told him to save room for desert & I imagine the look on his face was pretty similar to mine many years earlier. So if I was a guest aboard Loon, on the top of my food list would be Baked Alaska!

Okay, first of all, I'm so glad that you were off rotation when all the madness happened. I'm sure you know more than I do and I'm also sure you've seen The Yacht Report commentary. I hope that the injuries are not life altering and that all the crew can move on to whatever is next for them. Next, I have learned to never watch one of your videos hungry! The sushi boats looked fantastic! That did trigger hunger pangs for me. As to what I'd have you cook if I were in that wonderful position... well, somewhat traditional actually! I'd go for full caviar service to get things going. Maybe a lobster bisque or mushroom soup, John Dory or sea bass as the fishy course then it has to be be steak, a nice wagu ribeye with dauphinoise potatoes and some seasonal veggies. There would have to be some foie gras to go with that. An alternative might me duck or saddle of venison... Desert... hummm... something cakey and creamy... and then cheese, port and cognac of course to close and... I've now made myself REALLY hungry!
