I’m glad you guys were able to resolve the fuel issues. I wonder if they make test strips that allow you to know the quality of gas before you sail off into a bad situation. I admire the way you handle stressful situations and keep on keeping on. You are providing such a beautiful life for your daughter and she is such a happy soul! I hope the pregnancy is going well and that you are feeling fabulous!

You guys are so fortunate to be living this dream and life style. It is always a pleasure to visit other cultures. as a first fuel, buy buy the cheapest car diesel filter, the disposable one. Buy a dozen of it and install it with easy to open clips. We sail like this. it takes 2 minutes to change the filter.

Info isn’t without issues. We had no problems buying solar, my wife being Indonesian. Always add some 2 stroke oil to it to keep the injectors clean and some anti bug. Lots of other issues but no diesel bugs. Have a good trip to Mauritius.

With my Yanmar by turning on the ignition but not engaging the starter, runs the fuel pump, and provided there is no blockage, pumps fuel through the system. After filter changes etc need to run fuel pump for a few minutes to provide fuel to everything.

Hi guys, just simple thing you can try getting fuel to filters. If you have handheld airpump, you can pressure tank at filler cap at tank, just need to make some adaptor for times you struggle again..

Watching some van lifers who travel the world they come across some bad fuel. Even in Italy where some cars will not run if it detects that bad fuel. The fuel companies must have to find a way to sell it. I would think home heating (Not down there) but in cold places that can burn that junk;. Thanks for sharing and good luck.

When we were cruising we always added a diesel additive and tanked into jugs let it settle and then filters thru T-shirt into tank . As we to picked up a bug once . It is a pain to clean that tank out completely .
@deanpratley1253 ай бұрын
Hey Yosh, can you not filter the diesel before it goes into the tank. Make like a big funnel rigged up to a big filter then into the tank. Or is that not feasible?

Yosh, would it be worth having a small air compressor on board (or borrowing one) so you could blow pressure back down the hard lines to clear any blockage? Then polish the fuel in that tank and transfer it to the other. Love your videos and your determination!

really nice video. the 2 Mahi that were caught were nice sizes that'll give you 5 meals or there abouts.I really hope you get that fuel problem resolved, Yes Indonesia a great place to visit and in your case sail around, but they do have cheap dirty fuel gas and diesel. You figure for being a petroleum producing country their local fuel would be clean. Looking forward to next video and meeting your new crew who'll be sailing the Indian Ocean with you. heers
