Thanks Mr. Wiese. This is the kind of thing that makes the internet great.

Appreciate all the views and comments people have made. My boat weighs around 400 lbs and closer to five hundred with batteries. The lift will bring the boat up easily. I've even been on the boat adding more weight. Still working great for three years. I use the lift around 3 times a week.

Thank you so much for this video--so many helpful tips here. But, I just saw this post ("Instant Access To 518 Boat Plans and 40 boat building videos”) and actually was reading about this same topic the other day. I did some searching around and stumbled onto this cool article… I thought it was helpful… 518boatplans.blogspot.com

Do you think the system that you made can handle a boat with engine 500 lb ?

Went to HD to look at the parts needed. I took 2 inch schedule 40 fittings and tried to insert over 2 inch EMT conduit. The conduit will not slide through the fittings as required. The rim (stops) inside the PVC where PVC pipe would butt into keep the EMT from going through. Did you have to grind these out to make this work?

John, I'd love to see if this works for you still? I have a dock with about 3-4 feet of water with a 20" pontoon. Do you believe this would work? Any suggestions? Thanks

+Russell Moran I think the concept of a scissor lift will work. Keep in mind my boat is small and light and am able to get away with light material. I will post another video soon after I put the boat back in the water.

Hi-This is an older video. I am looking for A MECHANISM TO GET MY PADDLE BOAT FROM THE GRASS TO THE LAKE WE LIVE ON. Any suggestions? Thank you. Getting too heavy for my husband to lift in and out of water. It is shallow at the edge of the lake. Ive been online for days and can't find anything. thanks

I am looking for the same idea. I have something like a paddle boat, it’s a Craig cat and I need to get it out of the lake into my grass or just fired out of the water without spending a ton on an aluminum cradle. There is about a 3 foot bulk head when tide is low.

This is an old comment, but I'm looking to do the same thing. I only need to take it out seasonally. Simplest thing might just be a couple of 2x4s and piece of plywood to make a ramp. Attach a barrel to one end to make it a floating ramp if you like and then pull the boat out with a road.

How much weight will this hold?

The pontoons are made from 1/4 plywood. They are scale size models of Noahs ark. All epoxy coated reinforcing fiber glass on all seams and joints.

Hi kastaway2 I know it's hard to believe. This lift is working way better then imagined. If it fails in any way I will let people know.
