I launch at Vilano ramp all the time solo. Easy ramp. Low tide gets a little hairy. These are fishermen who mostly know what their doing. Love your videos.

That ramp is set up nice with the pontoon spaced away from the ramp, so less congestion with waiting for rigs to be cleared and brought over. Though it would be good to see the ramp in action with boats coming and going. Crews had it together for the most part, again great to see. Family's can do this with some dry land line work and fendering, then put it to practice at the ramp on a quite time of the day. Do a few launchings and retrieval's, mooring up etc. I bought my boat of a friend and arranged to keep it on his Thames river mooring at the end of his garden, being new to the boat I borrowed his teenager son for a trip up river, we had to pass through several locks, it took me a couple to get into a rhythm with the lad. He would be reading a book below and would know exactly when to come on deck, his line was already set from the last lock, on the way forward he tipped the fenders over with his toe. The line was made off a third of the way back from the bow so it would not pull the bow in, but act as a spring. The kid taught me a lot and the new pair of trainers I bought him was money well spent. When I spoke with his parents, they said it all made for a great day out when the whole family had team jobs and it all came together. Your sounding a bit croaky, so keep taking the honey and get well soon, I've been missing your vids.

You're in my neck of the woods. You'll find people up here mostly know what they're doing when they launch. We get in and out like a rainbow trout. Ramps up are are a little more forgiving as far as trucks slipping in but you still gotta be on your toes. Enjoy your time in NE Florida, it's been a beautiful Christmas weekend.

You won’t find the same level of stupid at the Vilano ramp as you see at Black Point. That said, I have 30 years boating experience but a new 18 foot bay boat and it took me 4 attempts to tie up to the dock today so I got schooled, the cross wind was not being friendly.

Wow Alfred that two-wheel electric scooters got some rain saying Augustine that's got to be a record and as far as it goes the further north you go out of South Florida the more serious they take boat ramp etiquette I watch the guy at New Smyrna one time trying to load his coolers and rods in his boat on the ramp the two people from different Vehicles got out and threw all his stuff out in the water

Alfred, the major difference between St Augustine area ramps and any near Miami is gonna be the predominance of fishermen, experienced boaters who are not all about gettin' drunk and impressing their 200lb women with macho craziness. You may even think it tame in comparison.

I expected those cpt. to know what they were doing. They are all most likely regulars considering they are at the ramp early. Wait until later and see if the sandbar or jetski people show up. IDK the area of that ramp but looks like you have to navigate that first part to get out into channel. Behind that farthest boat there were birds standing so you know he was close to ground.

I dont get it... How about a Tailgate mounted automated extender that would have a v at the end boats in the water mount the extender it would push out make contact w the boat push a foot or so then retract? This is No fun. There is no star of the show. Where’s the hungry 14 foot crocodile 🐊 who especially prefers Cuban cuisine? No house music playing in the background. No chubby chicks running around who have never been told “ don’t wear that!”. No meltdowns at the ramp. And no UBoat Captains who just sank their latest GMC Denali. …………very disappointing ☹️
